how do you introduce new mechanics into the game without them being op

?????

Although it seems every champion that comes out these days is op, isn't it inevitable to happen if you want to introduce new mechanics into a game?

Funny was just thinking about it. I don't think you can. The main reason for this ( as in many many other games ) the core mechanics are what devolped the game in the first place. If you change the core in any slight bit or way, you change the game itself, Its inevitable. So an a more appropriate response is too adapt the game in whatever way you can.

Kinda like the human body. You are not the same person you were yesterday, or 10years go. But regardless, you learned to live with those changes and make use of them :). Eventually all champions/mechanics will have to be reworked / introduced with a way of adapting to these new changes, or else the game will fall apart and no one will ever use anything that is not op. The real question is:

Is this new mechanic/champ/item really OP, or do people who haven't encountered and learned it yet just think it is?

The thing about it isn't that the mechanic itself is OP. It's the fact that the champ/mechanic/item is also overtunned.
