You only give dmg, no survivability, no healing, no shielding and migh i add a huge shield and heal with locket and redemption, but hey your lichbane and rabadons will win the game. /end rant

Zyra has CC and with CC comes peel Karma has CC and a shield (single target or for the team) Malzahar has a form of CC and damage/poke

Anything that has CC can and will be played as support. Anything that can kill an ADC or poke them a lot can and will be played as support.

Of all the champions we have in the game there's only a handfull you can't play as support.

Personally i dislike AP "supports" but hey, I go ezreal support from time to time, for the sake of being off meta for fun though not cause i'm 100% totally physically and mentally unable to play a support champion
