Doran's Shield - 80 HP Doran's Blade - 80 HP

Both offer sustain in lane via HP/5 or lifesteal, so the only notable difference between the two is that one offers straight AD and the other offers flat damage reduction against specific sources.

Doran's Shield should probably be buffed to 100 HP to make the Doran's hierarchy go:

Doran's Ring - 60 HP Doran's Blade - 80 HP Doran's Shield - 100 HP

Shield already blocks damage and gives you increase health regen offering much better sustain. Why would they need to increase the health on it as well?

People rarely get Doran's Shield as it is, since it has the lowest cost efficiency of all the Doran's items. In the post, I am also pointing out how similar the two items feel. I should probably have also mentioned in the post that Doran's Ring start offers two potions, but both Doran's Blade and Doran's Shield only offer one potion, further cementing the fact that the two starts offer little difference in the early game in terms of what they offer: A bit more sustain than starting component items in order to help champions make it through early levels.

However, look at it this way: Doran's Ring and Doran's Blade undoubtedly scale better than Doran's Shield, even being relevant in the mid-game. Doran's Ring does this through sheer cost efficiency, while Doran's Blade has somewhat less cost efficiency but also has lifesteal, a scaling stat proportional to the damage items the champion will inevitably buy. However, Doran's Shield offers FLAT hp/5 and damage reduction, both of which do NOT scale into the mid-game.

Doran's Shield needs something. What I am trying to propose is to increase its cost efficiency in order to make it comparable to the rest of the Doran's line of items.
