question for riot employee , general public is welcome to have an opinion
I read in article about singed roam support and would like to get ahead of the game with my smite ivern support.
first off let me explain how exactly I play it and build it and I would like to know if this is a bannable offense. having over 100 games with it I'm not inclined to believe cause and effect arguments where you have no experience with this exact method, because then its just speculation and usually only looks at worst case rather than best case. but being that I recently received a ban (without an email) mistily for mouthing off not related to my ivern because it was prior, I would like to know any riot employees stance on this situation.
I play support ivern with smite. here is a basic overview before I get into more details
I DO NOT TAKE ANY OF JUNGLES FARM.
there are some situations where I will take his jungle farm for instance, if I want to give a buff to someone blue or red mainly blue to mid. if enemy jungler is trying to steal his jungle and very very rarly and usally happens closer to mid game i will take a gromp or krug if i am 99% sure by the time he wants to take it , it will be responded. mid-late game around the time jungle because free farm for all i will then also join in on that.
I BUILD ALL SUPPORT ITEMS AND ACTIVATES AND TANK
the way i build his support items i usally can if i choose to stack 3 shields on one player and have a heal placed on them and the forth shield with my e coming off cooldown makes me able to turn any given fight and able to support all 4 of my teammates. recently i have found that building zz and placing it top allows us to have global control. and even i build the cleanse item depending on the situation. my ivern makes a large amount of gold and allows me to build support items quick and the good thing is i can select which support item would be best for every situation making every game a different build. with all the extra gold i am also always the tankiest on team in addition to the 8 different things i can do at any given time to support.
I DO NOT TAKE KILLS, VERY RARLY WILL I GET A KILL
MORE ENTAILED EXPLAINATION: ok so i start the game and i have some secrets i don't want to share because i might be playing you guys sometime soon lol. when i start the game i either take enemies red side or blue side. i take all 3 of there camps in over 100 games ( against platniums and diamonds as well) this can not be stopped. this makes me instantly level 3 while all laners are level 1. now i am sure to ward for enemy jungler knowing with his side cleared he usally will go gank and while I'm waiting for the krug ( my passive) i can protect top against gank and usally turn a gank. being level 3 can also result sometimes in an early kill top being fully aware enemy jungler is usally just 3 seconds away.
so that's the start. a lot of things can happen just in this play alone and more times then not it results in mid and top trying to gank me and they either will die from being followed from there laner or i will easily escape having plants and flash and if I'm chooseing to escape you can bet your last willy wonka that first I'm going to kite kite kite and delay you from lane as long as possible and now i not only put the jungler behind and me ahead but also the mid and top laners ahead rather they choose to follow or stay it still works out good.
so what now, well now i take the krug river and ward so my top laner is completely protected. enemy jungler has nothing to do and if i noticed he didn't clear his side of the jungle completely before coming over well then i can just head over there and steal that last camp he left now enemy jungler has lost 4 camps of his 6 and a krug and on top of that he doesn't even know where the first jungle mob will spawn in his jungle but i do :) i do this for as long as i can setting enemy jungler super behind and if anyone chooses to try and catch me it only helps our lanes out.
now i have gold and i can focus on what support items my team will need , and typically i build 3 full support items and level 2 boots when enemy support has only finished 1 support item.
ok so lets talk alittle bit about what you all may be thinking is the biggest situation in my support ivern the fact that our adc is 1v2 in bot lane , remember i am talking from experience of over 100 games .
lets consider all 3 people are of equal skill level , then yes adc will get denied some farm and there is one adc that would be utterly hopeless, yes just one and its twitch . while the adc is being denied farm he is also getting levels faster he will likely be level 6 when enemies are level 4 and sometimes 5 and since they are always pushed to tower they can not stop a gank from jungler + me if i am around when jungler ganks but if I'm not if our jungler ganks bot lane he will usally score a kill and atleast a flash. i don't go around ganking but rather look for fights occurring or about to occur and make it there. now lets say adc is completely overwhelmed and loses a turrent earlier ( usally after we already have top turrent ). well then adc now gets free farm bot lane and if there adc and sup decide to push second tower its free kills for us , remember kills give gold as well as minions so our adc will catch up very fast if there bot doesn't play support tight. and after taking bot turret there bot now has nothing to do but to go mid or top usally mid, with my ultimate and tankiness i can easily defend mid turrent for at least 2 minion waves , that's 2 more waves for the adc or hey maybe he decides to just clear whats there and come mid. i have tons of shields heals cc stun bushes cleanse if needed etc this much should basically give you a good idea of my games and i am interested in discussion I'm sure i can clarify anything from my sheer game number about smite support ivern.
lets talk even uglier for a moment about smite support and community , there are some adc's who will just afk or refuse to play game if I'm not in lane before 4-5 min or maybe they will die once and go mid or constantly just flame this happens also i get the mid laner who dies in a 1v1 or to a gank (nothing to do with botlane ) and wants to take his dead time to flame me and basically make my fault they losing fair fights even though i have no barren on that and often times even turn the fight in there favor . i played one game earlier today i asked adc not to play twitch in lobby but anyone else was fine , so he picks twitch , dies a few times then proceeds to try and troll and go mid , funny thing is i landed top lane a kill and another and another prior to his utter forfeit then as we rotated around started dominateing all the while the twitch was trying to troll land feed and even eventually got fed just trying to troll that's how good it went most of my games have been against diamond platnuims and golds because of flex rank and i have been winning them, i think i still have above 50% win rate despite the fact that my team makes some games unwinnable by refusing to play... sometimes ill get the adc that quits or flames about being down 7 farm literally... and sometimes i get the jungle who decides to give enemy jungler open access to our jungle farm to go lane bot and usally die.
THE LOSE IS YOUR FAULT: there are sometimes when the lose can be considered my fault from my experience this time is only when the enemy adc picks vayne. if there is a vayne in bot its a huge counter to smite support because she melts everything and the only way to win against her which i have done is for my team to focus her extremely hard in team fights and for me to build strikly to counter vayne , both items that slow her attack speed , and thornmail and even then that's just enough to get to her . vayne is a huge problem with smite support for enemy adc and twitch is the huge problem for our adc.
YOUR NOT A SUPPORT: what do you want from a support i ask? because this is what my support offers, i am the tankiest player in game, i can instantly get you red and blue buffs and usally from the enemies jungle . i can stun and get our fighters gap closed, i can shield and slow, i have aoe cc and knock up ( got a yasou a penta other day with daisy ). i have counter utility , they have slows or stuns np i cleanse it . big heal gotcha, extra shield sure, more attack speed , slow there attack speed what does the situation call for because i can offer you any kind of support you need and don't just pick , pick atleast 3 because that's how many full items I'm ahead of enemy support if you count level 2 boots . and while I'm activating all these items and my E with a 5 second cooldown that aoe slows and shield for around 300 I'm sitting smack in the middle of the fight also tanking and if daisy there heh. plus i can easily initiate any fight and if i initiate with daisy and they don't got the power to melt her they have to run...
in closing, i don't think my ivern support is off meta at all because 90-95% of the game I'm doing all the meta things a support should do and I'm doing them 3 times better thx to the 5-10% i spent stealing enemy gold.
side note: with the singed thing and the ban, i feel if he was taking his junglers farm that is reason enough to ban him that's trolling no matter what he is doing and can seriously tilt your own jungler and if he wasn't building support that's even more trolling sure there are some instances when you shouldn't build support for me it would be against a vayne when i have to build literally every item to counter her and it directly effects winning the game because when she dies we win. but if you typically just don't build support you are trolling. also if your scoring kills that's another troll. none of this is a problem with my ivern support so my question to riot would it be bannable , (fyi) i usally don't build sightstone because we know where enemies are the whole early game and mid game and i find basic free ward combined with control wards is enough to spike a ward edge early .
