Create a rune that makes manaless champions build mana items

I think rod of ages could be pretty good on champions like Mordekaiser and Rumble . The rune can only be taken on manaless champions and turns mana that's wasted into bonus health and mana regen into health regen. This would fix the issue of manaless ap champions having no ap bruiser items so they can build rod of ages and ludens for extra health and damage. For example the passive would be like this: "40% of wasted mana is turned into bonus health and mana regen is turned into health regen. MANALESS CHAMPIONS ONLY".

it would be pretty spooky on some champs and I feel like it could potentially be a gigantic balancing concern, but I still do like the idea, tbh.

Don’t forget this thing. Vladimir Also she is annoying. Katarina Least not forget the monster that was Akali for how many mouths? Instead of health and ap what if it’s mr?

Aseraan5/13/2019, 10:10:30 PM3 votes

it woudl be an absolute balance nightmare if its usefull if not other runes just would overshadow it just like right now whit runes...

hhaavviikk5/14/2019, 6:03:00 AM3 votes

how about no, you already have the advantage of having no mana costs

TotalJerk5/14/2019, 7:25:59 AM3 votes

Riot specifically gives puts mana on some items because they don't want Manaless champions buying them. A prime example of this is when item 2065 was being abused by Vlad and the responded by sucking some stats out of it and putting mana regen on it.

Gaia's Roots All mana obtained through items is turned into HP instead ( not sure if it should be 100% of the value or lower).

It would be hard since things like Seraphs scale off mana but you don’t actually have mana but you’re building mana

I like the idea, but for now we have item 3151 item 3116 item 3157 item 3152 items that are made with ap/armor and ap/hp. It would be nice if we have items that grant bonus AP based on how much hp you have like item 3040 but instead of mana it count for hp.

So according to LoL Wiki health value is around 2.67 gold per point and mana value is 1.4 gold per point.

Therefore I propose something like this: 1st or 3rd row of Resolve tree:

Mind Over Matter 50% of your Bonus Mana is converted into Bonus Health (1 point of mana = 0.5 point of health). 100% for manaless champions.

ex. item 1027 250 mana = 125 mana + 62.5 health or 125 health for manaless.

I would not include mana regen here thou as it could result in abuse from item 3010 or item 3802 passives and the only items that have any "standard" mana regen are already support items anyway.

*Edit. Lets check out items and see if thats not too impactful: item 3194 : +75 hp // +150 hp for manaless, item 3003 (no stacks) : + 162.5 hp // 325 hp for manaless but no mana to ap passive, item 3040 : +350hp // cant be stacked by manaless (no mana expenditure), item 3010 : +75 hp // +150 hp for manaless, item 3110 : +100 hp // +200 hp for manaless, item 3024 : +62.5 hp // +125 hp for manaless, item 3030 : +150 hp // +300 hp for manaless, item 3025 : +125 hp // +250 hp for manaless, item 3100 : +62.5 hp // +125 hp for manaless, item 3285 : +150 hp // +300 hp for manaless, item 3004 (no stacks) : +62.5 hp // +125 hp for manaless, item 3042 : +250 hp // cant be stacked by manaless (no mana expenditure), item 3041 : +50 hp // +100 hp for manaless, item 3800 : +100 hp // +200 hp for manaless, item 3027 (no stacks): +75 hp // +150 hp for manaless, item 3029 (max stacks) : +100 hp // +200 hp for manaless, item 1027 : +62.5 hp // +125 hp for manaless, item 3057 : +62.5 hp // +125 hp for manaless, item 3070 (no stacks) : +62.5 hp // +125 hp for manaless, item 3070 (max stacks) : +250 hp // cant be stacked by manaless (no mana expenditure), item 1082 : +25 hp // +50 hp for manaless, item 3078 : +62.5 hp // +125 hp for manaless, item 3050 : +62.5 hp // +125 hp for manaless.

All in all this doesn't look very abusable. We need to remember that you would need to sacrifice a minor runeslot for this (in Resolve tree on top of that) so imo it's not a bad idea. Hell we could probably even bump it up to 75%/150% for manaless and it still would end up being just an ok rune with all the impact other runes have.

Akali item 3027 item 3285 item 3100 yesssssss do it!

General Esdeath 5/14/2019, 12:37:37 AM2 votes

Riven item 3027 item 3100 item 3041 item 3003 item 3030

or

Riven item 3025 item 3110 item 3042

Karn Bishop5/14/2019, 11:14:05 AM2 votes

Sure until you realize the birth of item 3025 Tryndamere

Furious Delisha5/13/2019, 11:30:03 PM2 votes

This idea would make Garen absolutely busted with Glacial Augment.

The only thing stopping him from using it is his inability to make good use of active items with slows on them.

ZephyrDrake5/13/2019, 11:33:23 PM2 votes

Yes, let's make the perfect rune for vlad

kayochan5/14/2019, 2:17:42 PM1 votes

As cool as it seems. It would become an overpowered rune...aka a nightmare to deal with. Too many mana items would work well with certain champs and would curve stomp alotta champs.

Sucction5/14/2019, 5:35:52 AM1 votes

As a Vlad main, I think this would break him.

Every RoA he builds would give him like 1.2k health, and 150 AP.

Maybe make it melee only, too? There's no other manaless ranged champions I can think of. I think Vladimir is the only one, unless I'm having a mental block right now.

Gnar I guess, too. Is that all?

5050BS5/13/2019, 8:59:40 PM1 votes

It would need to be at like 15 hps per 100 mana and 1 hp/5 for every 10 mana/5

Else it would be STUPIDLY OP

Critmaster Garen5/14/2019, 5:30:40 PM1 votes

alternatively, the rune could convert mana into a % max health increase instead of a flat health increase.

so its about on par with what overgrowth used to be last season. and it wouldnt lead to situations like Akali building item 3027 and becoming insanely tanky off one or two mana/ap items.

really the edge cases we would have problems with is if squishy champions gained a shitload of health off items like item 3285 item 3100 item 3027 and similar cases.

% health increases are much easier to handle since it would require to build other health items to make them really effective.

champions like Mordekaiser would probably still want the rune because they would scale it up with other health items.

or if you want to build item 3025 or item 3800 on garen, because theyre complemented by health items.

same for champions like Shyvana Rumble etc.

Cevrad5/14/2019, 11:09:00 AM1 votes

AP shyv grabs 2 items with mana in them xD Turns out ludens is way over gold efficient so you don't have to worry about buying it on manaless champs.
