Anivia Support - A Really Strong Pick ATM?
Anivia - League's frozen chicken The CC ice chicken midlaner that is also a support
This is just from a few games of it, and some theory crafting, but I can see Anivia being a very good support. Your Q can slow, and stun the target, your W block's off their escapes, your E can easily chunk for half of someone's health, and your R is a AOE slow that can be activated almost anytime you want. In the following, I will be listing some of the PROs and CONs that I have experienced, have seen, and some theory crafting.
PROS- Good Scalings Lots of CC (Wall, Q slow/stun, R aoe slow.) High Damage Resistant to ganks (if you have mana) Passive Revive High Team Fight Viability High Carry Potential
CONS- Immobile Mana Issues early on if not careful High mana costs Low damage unless you can land a stun or slow with an ability Low health
Of course, they are more that can be said, but I feel that this is a decent place to end for their PROs and CONs. When it comes to builds, get your starting support item, rush Tear then Rod Of Ages, then finish your support item. Build what you deem needed for your game, and be sure to finish your Archangel's Staff.
ADCs That Work Well With Anivia - Jinx - Land your stun, and Jinx can lay down her Chompers for a root as soon as your stun ends. Follow it up with a slow and a wall, unless they burn flash, your target is likely to die.
Jhin - Much the same as Jinx, time your root for when the stun ends, and follow through.
Ashe - Slow your target to hell. Land a stun, followed with your aoe slow, if they burn flash, Ashe ult/Anivia wall will solve that!
Cait - Land a stun, Cait lay's down her trap and triggers it, boom, free headshot for massive damage.
These are just 4 characters, and they can be DEADLY if paired up with an Anivia. These two alone can easily win your lane. There are supports that Anivia struggles against, such as Blitz, Threash, and possibly Naught, just because of his CC, however, you do counter his will with your wall.
What do you guys think? Does Anivia support have any standing to be great in the coming season, or just in general in the support role?
