Account protection - why don't we have more?

Really wasn't sure where to put this, could a mod move it if it's in the wrong place?

One thing I've noticed when comparing League to other games is how little account protection we have. In Blizzard games you have the Authenticator which only lets you log in once you enter a code that's sent to your phone. You also have SMS protection. On Steam and many other platforms you have options as well afaik, but on League we don't have much, if anything, to protect us once someone gets our password. Considering Riot's resources and how popular the game has gotten, I consider this both surprising and concerning

This is a topic I haven't seen discussed at all on boards, so I'm wondering if a Rioter could clarify if something is in the works; perhaps additional account protection will be introduced in the new client?

Not only would this give us players more peace of mind since you aren't a keylogger away from getting hacked, but it would also lighten the load on Rito Support when players get banned for suspicious activity on their account when they're hacked. In PB&M you see threads almost daily about how players were hacked and banned and then subsequently went on to appeal it. Granted, not everyone would use account protection, but other than that I don't really see a downside here and, again, am surprised I haven't heard anything about this yet

Good news! I was (yet again) bringing up two-factor authorization to the Support peeps and they shared this with me; http://www.riotgames.com/riot-games-security
