AP Mercurial Scimitar?

is a great item. Gives some MR, a awesome active, and overall just a good buy, especially against some deadly CC like or . is a upgrade of that item, since it provides AD and a stronger active. But, the AD is wasted on AP champions. So why not make a AP version of Mercurial Scimitar? Granted, very few people buy the Mercurial Scimitar, but the fact that there isn't a AP version make's it less desirable for AP champions since it doesn't build into anything for them. Mercurial Scimitar, while a rare buy, still gives 80 AD. Maybe have the item build out of QSS and a blasting wand and provide 100 AP or something like that, just to make people less bad about buying the QSS in the first place.

Quicksliver sash is the item that has the potential to build into three different items. It can maybe build into more I just can't think of any others that would work. The sash works better than zhonya in some way because you can stop a cc effect on you alike a ww ult or naut ult. For example: item 3140 + item 1026 or item 1058 = Mercurial Staff + item 3082 + item 1031 = Mercurial Plate + item 1057 + item 1033 = Mercurial Cloak

The point, I think, is that mages get Zhonya's while AD champions get Mercurial Scimitar.

The fact of the matter is that if you're building AD like that, you are usually either 1) a toplaner who gets more use out of Hydra, or 2) an ADC for which Crit Chance rush is pretty much mandatory now. (or Bloodthirster or Triforce, depending on your champion)

Then a few champions who might be able to make use of it would probably be better with something like Zephyr that gives Tenacity in general.

Nah, AP mercurial would be op. Zhonyas is your "oh shit" button but it's counterbalance is that you have to be free to use it. If mages could just lift cc from each other, it would kill the counterplay that so many of those mages have. Stunning leblanc is one of the few things that keeps you from dying, if she just lifted her cc, she'd just continue with her combo.

And yes, if ap's got a mercurial, then by contrast, ADs would need a zhonyas, and that would be horrifically op (ADC meta ftw)
