@Riot I would love an answer to the questions i have on the new rune system and general balance.
Honestly this system still worries me due to the problems we are having now with the current system. Whats going to stop this from happening on this set up? I get that it's free to all and you start with it but the fact that runes and keystones literally made so many champs broken in the good way or turned them into trash.
So i worry this system is just going to make the same old issue just new look. Honestly not trying to cramp the style here but i'd rather see this part be like every other moba and not exist just add to the stats of the champs and move on. I mean right now there is enough problems balancing the (136?) champs in game and then the items why add one more thing to make it worse? So many champs are not viable and need to be reworked or looked into so why really bother adding this type of system with this in mind? As well we still have items breaking champs hard; lucian is a perfect example of this problem while ones like draven(dont get me wrong i love draven) he just face rolls everyone for the most part with a few damage items. Then the other example of riven using coc which made her a living nightmare to deal with then it got nerfed and hurt the champs it was meant to help.
The issues with the champs did not create counter play it created a tiered system of who is the most powerful also why we see certain champs non stop in pro play cause of the champ ease factor. Hence why i don't see overly complex champs played and also why the pro scene is boring why? it's the same pool of champs and people jockeying to get them. So i guess i am aiming at the bigger issue in total is when will balance of the champs be looked at so things like items and fluff stats like runes and such won't break the champ or toss them in the trash?
