Why does the match making just randomly decide to put a platinum player on their team in a game that has bronze and silvers in it?

I went back to OP.GG, "Recently Played WIth: The White Dragon", so we was duo with the silver 4 player, i still don't understand why they don't put them in a game with golds rather then VS bronze and silvers.
