I figured it was super fake because it pandered to the fans too much, and Elderwood Blitzcrank seemed super fake, it was too absurd.
Considering there was like a dozen+ skins I was pretty skeptical to begin with. Theres generally only a couple per patch, so that'd be like 5 patches worth of skins, and I expect there'd be more other 'big news' things to leak if they're going that far into the future.
