Idk why people always hate on Riven. She has the potential to be really good, but her defense is shit. All you have to do is play the right champ and have the right timing to take her out. If you don't let her kill you first then you have an exponentially higher chance of winning your lane.

Although, she is fun to play. I played her a lot not too long ago

She has shield, mobility, aoe stun, knockup, bonus AD for bonus AD, insane damage, low cds, no resources. There is no right champions - Riven has no natural counters. All counter play she has is playing safe avoiding to give kills to her.

Every single champ who given you're both on equal skill level and properly played correctly in a top lane matchup that can EASILY beat Riven if you respect her.

As for items: item 3110 (especially frozen heart!) item 3022 item 3025 item 3075 item 3047 item 3142 (If you can catch her she can't get away). And of course building any of the several health items increases your survivability.

If you refuse to build what counters her (think item 3140 for Zed or item 3157 ) ... then complain OMG RIVEN TOO HARD TO FIGHT WTF IS THIS... you're just something else really. And of course silencing her mid attack with Garen is always nice.

I maining toplane and you may not post this list. I see it every time when I'm writing about Riven. But all this is just theory. Practice is a different thing.

I could write about every match up, but I'm too lazy. Keep in mind that if Riven can't beat champion on lane it doesnt mean that she wont back later in game.

garen, late nasus, hell even teemo can play right vs riven. But there are literally like 15 champs with no resources, yet people only complain about riven. Its due to their lack of knowledge of playing against her.
