Now of course it's not about not improving yourself. But when it comes to winning games, I have noticed the team that plays together as a team will usually win. It comes down pushing right down mid lane and usually my team isn't as willing to team as the rest.

It's individual at certain ELO unless your team is playing like a team, then it's team. But as a support main, I can honestly tell you that my games go much better when I just do my own thing and help those willing to help themselves and make good decisions. You can't support bad decisions. You can, however, build independent and burn the crap out of the enemy team's stupid.
