Keeping Ekko's Identity True
I'm seeing a lot of posts that are just flat "nerf Ekko, he is too strong" without really giving a lot of insight on what his problem is.
Ekko, as I can tell, was meant to be a skirmisher more than an assassin. But currently his burst makes him an assassin with incredible mobility, cc, and sustained damage.
This issue, I believe, comes from that fact that when he jumps on someone, his q activates his passive so fast that his executing damage on his auto is up almost immediately for the assassination. He can basically just E onto someone, throw down all his spells, and then kill them and get away fairly easily. I do want to say I love him and he's my ideal champion, but it kind of hurts to compare him to some of my old favorites (like Zed, etc) and just see how he's better at everything than they are.
The issue is he just has so much on his kit. You guys did a good job of making him feel smart and making his spells actually challenging to use at times, but the issue is just the damage in my opinion. I don't think his q should proc his passive, personally. If you take that away, he has to be more of a skirmisher, he has to be autoing people and playing smart to get that passive off. Plus, his q + passive makes for incredibly strong chase. He's near impossible to escape from and very slippery to catch. Oh and he has a lot of cc. He just sort of has everything.
I feel like maybe toning down the proc damage on his passive would help, possibly. He does so much damage that just the utility would be enough to warrant slapping your enemies around a bit.
I don't think it'd hurt, either, to turn down the scaling on his ult damage. I get that it's hard to get that to work properly, and I like that, but honestly he just does so much damage without it that he doesn't even need his ult. At all. It's usually just better used as an escape, which I suppose is the point of making it so impactful to have so much damage on his ult, but... It's not needed, and when it actually works it kind of just destroys everything instantly.
These ideas are just suggestions of course, and I'm not really saying to do all of them at once. Unless you think that'd be a good idea.
