My thoughts on the "Marksmen are never weak" debacle: Add a tower-killing stat

So I've been seeing a lot of threads around on marksmen being a general pain in everyone's rear. Obviously marksmen are not the only problem this time around, but when marksmen are involved, they are INVOLVED. Normally I would brush this off as the boards being the boards, but the thing is, this isn't the first time I've seen this complaint crop up. Ever since around the end of season 5 (at least that's when I first noticed it) this argument has popped up its head at least once. Marksmen end up coming out on top of other classes quite frequently, even if sometimes the duration is short lived.

So this gets me thinking on past seasons whenever an ADC champion(s) gets crazy. From my recollections, they all have a correlation: crazy itemization. This could be abuse of bruiser items (item 3025 >Ezreal , item 3053 >Graves Ezreal Quinn , etc) or the entire class using a set of items better than who they were intended for (lethality in general). Nowadays it seems AD and support itemization (item 3812 and item 3504 being the big outliers) are kinda insane. So how do we solve this?

My suggestion is to do something similar to what we did with assassins: give them a class favorite stat that supports their role in the game. Assassins role is to assassinate the mvp, and a marksmens role is to be the objective-taker (for the ones that can't be summoner 11) This stat will allow them a stronger place in the game, while smoothing out their power-curve by taking strength in their itemization away from just raw damage.

"But that stat doesn't sound combat effective, you just want ADC's gutted!"

No, no I do not. All I want is for marksmen to have a clear strength in the (strategy-side of the) game, and have uniqueness while not overshadowing everyone else as being safer versions of other classes. As for not being combat-effective, that brings me to my next point.

"Marskmen already have a stat they love, it's called critical strike!"

Firstly, Gangplank Yasuo Tryndamere would like a word.

Second, crit right now isn't exactly the healthiest stat. The fact that most, if not all high-tier players have 1% crit runes in their pages just to have a chance to Trynda-cheese someone says enough about the stat as a whole. Which is why I propose this new tower-killing stat replace and double as a more gradual version of critical strike. This way we can take some power out of the stats in marksmen itemization and have the tower-killing stat be the big thing marksmen would want over AD.

If anyone has any thoughts or criticisms, I'll be happy to hear them. :)

A better idea could be to just make better melee-only items and have towers take damage based on proximity to them (closer you are=more damage you deal to them). While it wouldn't 100% fix this whole debacle, it'd be a nice start.

towers are not the reason marksmen are meta

when are people ever going to understand? play other mobas to see how they deal with towers and ranged champions, THEY DONT DEAL WITH IT because it's not the problem

About the second thing: They are removing the problem of early lucky crit with Runes Reforged.

I'm confused. All three of those champions are ADCs.
