S7 REAL Soloq, Why not?

Why don't we have a REAL sq option?

What's the point of duo queue when you have flex?

Honest question. Why, in s7, if you're trying to separate the advantages that both queues offer, don't you make them perfectly distinct?

A real SQ, else flex? What's the point of a duo partner if i'm trying to show off my soloq strength?

Edit: Besides, isn't the concern that there won't be enough people? Why would we give a small group two queue options? That will surely push more people into soloq thereby massively increasing queue times.

The other, already spoken, EXCELLENT idea that, if I don't care, I can just queue up for "first queue" as a solo player (so I don't have to pick DQ or SQ) why wouldn't we do everything we can to make sure that all premades are pushed toward the flex option?

Probably because if Flex queue cannot sustain itself with the Solo/Duo queue at the same time, they're getting rid of flex queue all together. That would leave us with a SoloQ and ranked 5v5s queue only.

Keeping Solo/Duo as one queue is a safety net for when if flex queue fails. Otherwise there will be no more playiing a quick ranked match with a friend

This is my precise concern. You have a good ~30% of the playerbase that PREFERS dynamic queue. To be perfectly honest of the ~10 people I know who play this game, 7 still do only because of dynamic queue. I realize this is just my immediate circle, but you would definitely be alienating a huge swath of the player base by doing this. It's the same mistake, again, that they made in s6.

And yet it would be the exact same game for them if they just did normal draft...

Parceval1 votes

No, it wouldn't. Ranked matters. Otherwise people wouldn't complain about SQ so vehemently.

People care about where they are ranked, it's why at least 5 of them still play. They're competitive, normal draft does not offer that.

If they're competitive, playing with your friends shouldn't matter unless they'd play 5v5s if Dynamic Queue didn't exist.

People complain about not having Solo Queue because Dynamic Queue warps the game's MMR system, and the game originated as Solo/Duo.

Losing Dynamic Queue doesn't affect ranked play in any way shape or form. The only people truly losing out are those who could not climb on their own, thus were simply abusing the system.

? I'm not certain you understand the purpose of ranked.

I'm suggesting two totally distinct queues that allow the maximum amount of the community to be satisfied.

5v5 is far inferior to DQ as it requires exactly 5 people all the time.

WoW did away with set group sizes years ago, because it's a known issue. It's much easier to get 2-5 players MUCH easier than it is to get exactly 5.

Just make SoloQ solo only and put Duos in FlexQ.. problem solved.

Apparently, people who duos want that friend experience, people who solo want to play solo and preferably against solos I would presume, or so I feel myself at least.

So why even bother mixing the two when duo's would probably fit better with DQ? We asked for pure solo Q and got DQ, now we're ditching DQ to go back to the exact same system we had before? -.- Why not just take the best of both worlds and make them mutually exclusive experiences? Just as OP/TS said. I guess it just makes too much sense.

As I said, SoloQ for solo only.. let Duos play on Flex if they want.

Honest question. Why is it so damn important to you? You really going to blame duos for screwing you over? Get over yourself/it/everything?

There is a huge difference being able to duo and being able to queue as 3-5. If you don't understand that then there is probably no helping you.

Just be happy solo/duo back and stop crying about "only solo queue".

Parceval1 votes

? Why was soloq important in the first place? The answer to your question is clear.

Pure Solo Q is one of the things that would definately make me consider coming back to this game and start spending cash on it, I don't know why they are getting rid of DQ when alot of players like it alot and when the main objection against solo/duo when it was the standard was exacly that, duos, if I recall correctly.

Please Riot, learn from your mistakes, keep DQ but introduce pure SQ as well. Surely the worlds largest moba has enough players to support both Q's?

I would certainly think so. But duo will introduce unnecessary confusion.

... becuase people like me who LIKE solo/ duo que HATE dynamic que... when i play solo que, and i meet a really nice and friendly teammate i WANT to play with them again. being able to que with them for a few games makes climbing more fun.

if they remove duo que... both me and that new person i foudn in ranked who want to play together, would need to either do uranked.. or "flex que" and since we are both SOLO players we dont give a damn about riots "flex que" or our rank there. we just want to climb.

its not like i talk to the person over the phone or skype and say "lets get on and play together at X time" its like.. "oh this person i met in a ranked game is a decent teammate. i would like to have him on my team if i see him online"

Do you even understand the meaning of solo? Solo is latin/spanish for alone, only, single, solitary etc. That means, if you're a duo you are definately not a solo so why should you get the benefit of solo play when you're not even playing solo?

Pure soloQ is the way to go, this system would literally be impossible to complain about because there would never be any form of scewering in matchmaking team configuration, which would probably make it far easier for the matchmaking system to provide a consistent matchmaking experience. What's not to like? Why throw duo's in there and muck that up?

We were promised true soloQ far before we got DQ pushed on us, the major issue people even used to have with solo/DuoQ was exacly that: Duos, which were considered toxic for the game.

I think Riot should be true to their word and show us that you can expect them to fullfill their promises albeit late. Give us a true soloQ, people that want that friend experience can flex.

Yep. Exactly.
