Shen's Spirit Blade feels clunky...but here's a solution!
Just some brief personal info: I have 125k Mastery Points on Shen (by far my favorite champ) and just went 7/3/24 with the new Shen in the jungle. The problem is not an emergency, nor am I complaining that he's UP.
After finally getting hands-on with the new Shen, having already watched tons of YouTube videos of people playing his updated version, my concerns about the "feel" of his Spirit Blade have been confirmed. It's extremely awkward having to drag it around with minimal control, besides what you get from Q. Even thematically, if I had a spirit blade of my own, I'd keep that thing close to hand and I'd manipulate it as an extension of my body and will rather than as a wayward pet like it is now.
So, my suggested fix: Shen's spirit blade is attached to him, and his Q sends it to a spot on the ground in his vicinity (costs energy). It would stay there until Shen reactivates his Q (costs no energy) to bring it back to him. Q's champ-hit bonus aspect would be triggered on its return if Shen drags it through an enemy champ. This simple change clears up a lot of issues at once: W placement can be more precise and predictable, Shen and his enemies have additional opportunities to outplay each other with regards to his Q, Shen doesn't have to keep spending cooldowns and energy to keep his Spirit Blade close by, and enemies won't get such a huge clue about where Shen is going next (especially when he's jungling) if they just watch the direction the blade travels in.
What do you guys think?
