Im so confused with the shift in the jungle gold (pbe)

Each camp is reduced by an average of 10 gold per clear. The hunters machete now grants +10 gold per large monster kill, thus giving no net gain. The upgraded jungle items now give +20 gold per large monster kill, so a total net gain of 10 gold. Wouldn't it be so much easier if they just made the upgraded items give +10 gold so they can avoid all this excess work?

I really want an explanation because either my basic math is wrong or there is something intentional there that i am not seeing.

the main point is keeping the jungle for the jungler by lowering the reward for laners, and also buffing counterjungling as the big creep is worth more compared to the small ones(u usually take the big creep with smite and go away if u counterjungle)

Also, unless i'm mistaken; it's only the poachers knife that nets you the extra +20 gold when killing a camp in the enemy jungle. The gold isn't the only factor though. Also time it takes to clear each camp. Think of it less as a change for normal junglers that would take smite buy machete and more of a stop to lee sin type junglers who could jungle w/ no smite/machete. They can still do it but they won't get as much gold w/out machete.

I assume the changes are supposed to make it less profitable to counterjungle your own jungler like many toplaners tend to do.

They are worried about owners taking camps.

They want to nerf the jungle poaching that happens later game doing a quick toad or double golems gives a huge amount of gold and help combat good cs control.

This is a buff to counterjungling.

It actually is a rather clever way to do several things at once. Improve gold gain for jungler, make gold gain from jungle less profitable for laners, and make counterjungling more rewarding. A very good play by Riot.

actualy you still have a netgain of like 3~4 gold per big creep

It's also a minor Fiddle nerf as taking machete is suboptimal for him.
