Shaco Rework

WARNING: VERY LONG

Hello long time Shaco player here. I think we can all agree that Shaco has been nerfed into oblivion so here are some ideas that I had to help the clown out.

Let's start on his passive: Current: Shaco deals 20% bonus damage when striking a unit from behind with his auto attacks or abilities.

New: Shaco deals 20% bonus damage when striking a unit from behind with his auto attacks or abilities. Additionally, Shaco gains fear stacks while walking and auto attacking capped at 100 stacks. If Shaco auto attacks an enemy from behind he is granted bonus fear stacks. Shaco will not lose fear stacks over time.

If Shaco critically strikes he will instead lose fear stacks but do a total of 210% damage (260% with IE). If Shaco has no fear stacks he will not get the bonus critical damage. The amount of fear stacks Shaco loses per critical strike increases with levels.

Context: Fear stacks affect Shaco's other abilities. Shaco tends to build a lot of crit and since his fear stacks can be so powerful when used with his other abilities he needs some way to lose fear stacks. So crit would be a good choice to cause a loss. Fear stacks help reward Shaco for being smart and hurt him for being dumb.

Onto his Q Deceive: Current: Shaco instantly blinks to a target nearby location and enters stealth for up to 3.5 seconds. His next auto attack within 6 seconds is guaranteed to critically strike for modified base critical damage. Bonus critical strike damage from other sources are also applied.

New: Regular Deceive: Shaco instantly blinks to a target nearby location and enters stealth (475 Range). Shaco consumes up to 75 fears stacks. Depending on how many fear stacks were consumed determines how long Shaco will be stealthed which ranges from 2 seconds to 4.5 seconds. Shaco's next auto attack will be guaranteed to critically strike within a few seconds and return 25 fear stacks if the enemy is a champion. This critical strike will not cause Shaco to lose fear stacks

Feared Deceive: Deceive becomes feared at 75 fear stacks. Shaco will stealth for 4.5 seconds and gain bonus MS gradually decreasing while stealthed. Breaking stealth early will end the MS bonus. Shaco does additional damage for the crit and will return 40 fear if the enemy is a champion. This critical strike will not cause Shaco to lose fear stacks.

Context: As of now a big reason why Shaco is hated is because his deceive makes him so hard to deal with. What this does is the following: Since Shaco will not be gaining fear stacks early on in the game very quickly and will lose stacks later in the game when he is critically striking he probably won't be at full fear stacks when fighting you. If he does fight you and wants to use his abilities it will be harder for him to escape when losing a fight considering he won't have the 75 fear stacks to get him to those 4.5 seconds.

It makes his early game ganks just as good but makes him less frustrating to deal with when trying to catch him. The numbers can be adjusted if needed.

Onto his W Jack in the Box: Current: Shaco creates a Jack in the Box at a target location with 150 health. It will stealth after 2 seconds and lasts a maximum of 60 seconds. When an enemy comes near the box it activates and comes out of stealth, fearing nearby enemies briefly and attacking them for 5 seconds, dealing magic damage with its attacks. Casting Jack in the Box breaks stealth.

New: Shaco creates a Jack in the Box at a target location that lasts for 60 seconds. If Shaco has 25 or more fear stacks the box will become feared and this will be signaled by a glowing particle around the box. If Shaco does not have 25 or more fear stacks nothing will be consumed and the box will not become feared.

Regular Jibs: Have health, armor, and mr that scales with rank. When activated, the box starts attacking the nearest enemy doing magic damage to them and fearing them. The box will not fear the enemy out of its damage range. Casting the box will break stealth. Casting the box will break stealth. If multiple boxes are within close range of each other they will deal decreased magic damage to enemy champions.

Feared Jibs: Have bonus health, armor, and mr. Feared Jibs have a longer attack range (the activation range remains the same but the attacking range is increased) and fear the enemy for a longer period of time. Feared jibs also do increased magic damage. Casting the box will break stealth. If multiple boxes are within close range of each other they will deal decreased magic damage to enemy champions.

Jib AI: Boxes will prioritize: Champions > Big Monsters > Small Monsters > Turrets/Inhibitors > Minions and will not change targets unless the unit dies or goes out of attacking range. If Shaco is attacking a unit and it is within range of the box all priorities are overridden and the box will attack what Shaco is attacking (meaning if Shaco is attacking a monster it won't target the enemy champion standing right next to him)

Context: Jibs are a big part of Shaco's identity so you can't really take that away from him. I have the stats scale with rank so they can't be 1 shotted late game. I made it do decreased damage to champions when near each other so AP Shaco doesn't become overbearing and toxic if you run into one of his nests. Also made the AI not suck donkey balls

Onto his E Two-Shiv Poison: Current: Two Shiv Poison: Passive: Shaco’s auto attacks slow the target for 2 seconds. It also gives affected non-champion units a chance to miss their attacks Active: Shaco throws a dagger at a target enemy, dealing magic damage and slowing them for 3 seconds. The passive is deactivated during the cooldown.

New: Regular Two-Shiv Poison: Passive: Increases the rate at which Shaco obtains Fear stacks through walking and auto attacking. Shaco takes reduced damage from monsters which scales with rank (no longer causes them to miss attacks).

Active: Shaco throws a dagger at a target enemy, dealing magic damage and slowing them for 3 seconds. In addition, Shaco's next 2 basic attacks will return fear based on rank and slow the unit struck.

Feared Two-Shyv Poison: Passive: Same as Regular

Active: Consumes 50 fear stacks. The slow is increased significantly and the target is slowed for 3 seconds. In addition, Shaco's next 3 basic attacks will return fear based on rank and slow the enemy struck

Context: The Passive removes unnecessary RNG from his kit and makes it easier to survive in the new jungle. Also, it allows for good ganks and helps him scale into mid/late game better with the fear stack passive. It makes it less annoying to play against Shaco because he no longer has that perm aslow passive that makes it hard to get away from him and rewards him for using a feared E with a better and scarier gank.

Onto his Ult Hallucinate: Current: Shaco disappears from the map and becomes untargetable for 0.5 seconds, then creates a clone of himself that lasts for up to 18 seconds. The clone deals 75% of Shaco’s damage and receives 50% extra damage. This clone deals 50% damage to towers and inhibitors. At the end of its duration or when dying the clone will explode, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies within 250 range.

New: Shaco disappears from the map and becomes untargetable for 0.5 seconds, then creates a clone of himself that lasts for up to 20/23/26 seconds. Shaco is granted 100 fear stacks when he reappears. Shaco's clone deals 80/90/100% of Shaco's damage and receives 70/50/30% extra damage. The clone deals 60% damage to towers and inhibitors. Clone basic attacks against enemies restore a small amount of fear stacks per auto attack. At the end if it duration or when dying the clone explodes, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies within 250 range. Cooldown is increased at all ranks.

After Death 1: If Shaco dies he can double left click on his clone to control him for the rest of the duration, until death, or until Shaco respawns. Shaco's clone has increased MS will being controlled as well as bonus resistances. No abilities may be used for the duration. Costs 65 fear stacks. The clone will not return any fear stacks while being controlled.

After Death 2: Shaco can double left click on a target location within a certain range of the clone and the clone will be granted bonus MS and invulnerability until it gets there in which it will then explode and deal bonus magic damage. The clone may still be CCed during the duration to lengthen the amount of time it takes to reach its destination. If the timer runs out the clone will still not explode. The range increases with rank. Costs 50 fear stacks. Cannot be cast while dead.

Context: Buffs to the clone overall (might be a little excessive but idk). Shaco's clone as always been ult, do some damage, and then explode and if the enemies were good at kiting it would be really hard to get your clone to do anything at all. With After Death 1 and 2 it would give Shaco some more options to do overall and they would look pretty badass as well.

I think the changes I made make Shaco much less toxic overall and really fun to play without destroying his identity as a champion. What do you guys think? Any feedback or suggestions would be great.

Whenever I see stacking passives, I immediately think of the Cass rework. That aside, does Shaco really need a rework? He has very specific counter play, strengths and weaknesses. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a Shaco buff, but he certainly doesn't need one.

im sorry but all this does is force him to build crit the reason i like shaco is because he can build diff for diff situations in the game need to split push? hydra static shive is for you need to duel? tri botrk is for you need to insta delete that fed carry?i.e and static shiv are for you you see what im trying to say

if you want me to be honest i hate it it makes me build crit shaco which is frankly just bad, it can work but crit shaco is bad. leaving your damage up to rng is just not that good only time its any good is on yas with that double crit passive or an adc who really doesnt have a much better build path. but on shaco you can go hydra bortk lw and then whatever ad item fits your fancy.

I normally just build Warrior and Hydra then build a mix of bulk and damage. If i ever do rarely buy more damage its in the form of armor pen item 3035 item 3142

I really don't think Shaco needs a rework, I used to think he did but I realized he is very unique as a champion and that's why I enjoy playing him. If he gets a rework he won't have the same identity and play style and he may become popular (one of the things I like about him is that nobody plays him. At most all he needs is a VU since his animations and textures/models are trash.
