Why is the Essence Emporium so bad!?!?!?

Seriously Riot wth all of those years of playing for runes and all those rune pages. I was expecting the Emporium to be the chance to finally grab the Gemstones i needed in order to get something like Hextech annie and such.

Why are Gemstones so damn expensive for just a single one and forced to come with an icon!? I just want the gemstone! Urfwick is obscenely expensive skin to the point of being just silly. Emotes are all kind of just garbage in general with how expensive they are and the essence exclusive ones aren't even interesting they are basically just flaunting your wealth but now with potential spam and you could have at least made the normal ones worth essence as well like c'mon now. Icons and wards just... Aren't worth wasting the essence seeing how it just keeps you further away from stuff that is actually good. The only thing that people can actually afford with their Essence that might be even the slightest bit worth it are chromas and that's just so poorly done.

I knew nothing Riot gave us would really make up for all the years(and potentially real money) that went into collecting runes. But this is even below par compared to that. Riot is like obsessed with making Gemstones insanely expensive when they are only used for skins that are about 1350rp in terms of price.
