Should you be able to ban your teammates champs?

Why are you able to ban your teammates champions? There is nothing more tilting than your teammate banning the champ you are playing after you don't trade with them (or sometimes for no reason) and then putting a sly ":)" in chat. You can dodge, but not everyone enjoys the extra 5 minutes before a game.

Edit- comments are right, you should be able to ban whoever you want. But there should be something telling you that you shouldn't do it. For instance, in champ select, when you are choosing a champion that your teammate has already chosen it is greyed, but you can still click on it.

Because the enemy can still pick them.

Yes. While there may be individual cases that we can all agree on being wrong to ban, there are always cases where the player's choice to ban would be correct and they should be able to exercise their ban that they have been given as in their right to do so.

ok let me ask you this there is a new champ just put in the game that can kill anything in 1 auto your team wants to play that champ but you are not first pick do you A.really hope they dont pick that champ first or B. ban that champ.

Game I just got out of we had someone flipping their shit and threatening to intentionally feed because their chosen champ got banned by an ally. I told him I was screencapping the threats to feed intentionally and if he actually did it I'd put it as an imgur link in my report for proof that he was doing it on purpose. He played the game normally.

Frankly if people get mad or tilted or throw a tantrum because an ally bans the champ they were going to play, they need to stop being over-sensitive one-trick ponies. Usually it's a complete accident or they are trying to play a champ like Vayne or Yasuo who gets banned so often people just ban them right away out of habit. Get over it and move on with the match.

Dont try and stop me from banning yasou, i dont care if my teamate wants to play him or not, if i get a ban, i ban yasou.
