alright to preface, yes im bad, yes i just lost to her, but can someone explain to me, rationally, why lux has a higher base shield then like any other support Champion ? i get that it is technically a skill shot, yes the timing makes it clunky, but i still dont get why that means a ap mage gets to have such a strong shield
Syrile2 votesThe same reason she counters so many strong champions and received like five patches of buffs consecutively last year. Because she sells a lot of skins and is extremely easy to play and does massive damage with very little risk. Typical favorite of players that like to BM and be toxic and thus Riot loves the champion.

lux give 330 + 60% ap total shield with small delay on 66% of it janna give an instant 270 +70% ap shield and a damage buff lulu give 210 +60% ap instant shield and give her passive to that champion, double as an offensive ability as will karma one is weakest at 170 + 50% ap but it give a massive move speed of 60% at max level

its an ability that exist in the champion kit, it should not be garbage ability to start with (aka it should not be a garbage version of enchantress ability) unless you want to over buff lux E/Q to make up for the fact her W is just a garbage version of enchantress abilitys besides she is not the only mage with a shield comparable to enchantress , unless orianna count as enchantress she over more or less a comparable shield .
its not like lux outclass enchantress at what they do, she does not have enchantress utility and on top of that they have poke of the same level of lux and most of those pokes are not even skill shots to start with (soraka E if maxed deals 230 damage + 40% ap vs lux E which deal 250 + 60% and this is not counting soraka E being instant + silence + have a chance for double damage and root while lux only slow) .
the only reason to pick a lux over an enchantress is the range in laning and the scaling .

its not the matter of shield its the matter that Q level one and Q level 5 are the exact same in everything but damage and mana cost which rise by level

It never has been an issue or in the discussion until you complained about it. she is a 100% skill shot champ.. she has to have something as a give back..
