yesterday i was in a game where i ended up behind( extremely) a poppy as irelia. I was highly tilted and ended up building black cleaver to jsut try it since our comp was full ad and poppy was doing poppy things. In combination with irelias new attack speed passive it actually seemed insanely strong in that instance. Ended up building deatsh dance and wits end to close out the game. I was curious if anyone had any thoughts on this

Symor111 votesidk man i want to do the math because im almost postive if you are into enough armor black cleaver is better. you will be doing your passive damage if you build black cleaver or triforce so you arent losing anything there by going black cleaver. By going triforce you are losing attack speed, mana, movement speed and the passive proc. whereas by going cleaver you gain more hp more attack and armor shred. i think flat out the negative about going cleaver arent as big as one would think on top of the armor shred actually being super beneficial. With that in mind i still think triforce is the better bet 90% of the time but i think into really heavy tanks there is viability to cleaver. I will give you that the attack speed is a pretty large factor which makes cleaver less desirable

Symor111 votesoh no never even considerd building both, but the sheen proc i actually wasnt finding to be that notidable, but idk maybe it felt good in context of the Deatsh dance and wits end. The deaths dance seemed to make the damage feel similar outside of the initial sheen proc to one shot casters it felt good. Im gonig to try that build a few times and think on it.
