DQ matchmaking is a joke

The colors show who was a premade. Based on op.gg I knew that the four other players on my team were a quad (unless they had been paired up with each other 7-14 times randomly - I doubt it). The only history I could find for sure on the other team was that there was one duo. I could be wrong and there could have been a trio but no other players on the team had a match history with one another other than the players highlighted in green. I am usually around the high gold/low plat area on my other acount but that is a moot point. The quad, itself, had a much higher collective ranking than the other team.

In queue I could tell that the players on my team were at least a trio (club tags) and so I politely asked them if I could join their voice chat if they had one. They just trolled around and said things like "We are all ten year olds" and "you don't want to join trust me." I asked once more and got just troll responses. So I gave up. The game was pretty one-sided - we stomped. It wasn't fun. The other team had a huge disadvantage. DQ really needs some balance reworks, and premades don't act very nice, cooperative, or supportive with solos.

He's not shaming any player in the match, the names are fine.

This is legit the first time I've seen someone bitching about Dynamic after winning. As a person that enjoy's queuing with his friends I can't stand randoms joining my voice chat.

Gene Freakz43 votes

I'm bitching because I know what it feels like to be on the other team in these instances and DQ matchmaking needs to be improved. I don't care that much about joining voice chat (you can mute me or kick me if I turn out to be toxic), but I would like to be treated with respect. After all, according to Riot, DQ has lowered toxicity by so much.

Odd Gnome3 votes

People pretend like communication matters so much in these low elo's. The Trundle support fed his ass off and didn't even bother building a sightstone, Udyr fed his ass off and tried to play AP and I'll bet you anything that Talon didn't ward his lane more than 1 and probably started Blue Trinket. It's not the premade's fault that they're smart enough to pick a stronger team comp and all around did better.

Gene Freakz28 votes

Are you saying that the premade using voice chat of a higher collective mmr than the other team who most likely only had a duo on their team had absolute 0% to do with any outcome of this game?

MonkeyMadness11 votes

Good. Please type your vitriol of solo players here. Continue proving firsthand just how you premade asshats think of us solo players so that Riot can see it. I'm downvoting you because you're an ass, but know that I am so happy that you are dumb enough to actually admit to this.

Mr Fidori4 votes

The issue is (not speaking for this guy, I don't know his life), I don't think any specific thing about a solo player until champ select. Unfortunately, that's often the point at which they start raging about "premades", and afterward, no, I don't think much of them. This is in normals mind you, since I usually only solo/duo in ranked. The witch-hunt for people who play with friends has gotten out of hand.

MonkeyMadness2 votes

As a solo player in ranked who has been talking to a lot of other solo players on these forums, I can tell you firsthand that we see it quite in the reverse...

Also let me say that while we are probably adding too much salt to this DQ conundrum. But that is only to counteract the bitter taste we are left with after dealing with the more "stereotypical" premades. And it's not that we don't like people that play with friends. We are appalled by the fact that people are achieving ranks that they simply do not deserve due to the fact that they are getting "boosted" by their premades. It happens waaaay too often, and the effects are very detrimental to game health and ladder integrity.

Mr Fidori3 votes

I've gathered that many of you see it in the reverse. Which is your fine, until I start getting crap for simply having friends from some players. I don't think dynamic queue has a toxicity problem. I think League's eternal toxicity problem finally has a scapegoat.

Also, is there much evidence of people getting boosted on a large scale? The only case I've seen people make is: "I played in this game with this person who did bad. I'm sick of people getting boosted" but I dunno what other grounds people have made the claim on.

"I don't think dynamic queue has a toxicity problem. I think League's eternal toxicity problem finally has a scapegoat."

You hit the nail on the head.

Odd Gnome1 votes

Straight the fuck up. Preach it sister.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

No one is saying League doesn't have a toxicity problem, and no one is blaming DQ for it. We are blaming DQ for causing certain situations in which the toxicity feels worse. Perhaps in terms of raw numbers, there is less, and honestly I do believe that to be true, if only because premades don't harass each other. But when premades gang up on a solo players (which DOES happen, remain in denial if you wish but it does), the experience is far worse than the previous toxic experience in this game.

Mr Fidori1 votes

Haha, well for every thing imaginable, there's someone saying it, and I have actually seen quite a number of posts/comments specifically blaming dynamic queue for toxicity. Honestly, i don't believe there's less of it overall, I think it's about the same.

And yes, of course, just like there are times when solo players flame groups, there are also times when groups gang up on/exclude/troll solo players. But in previous season we complained about harassment in the form of "trolls" in general, whereas now we've retitled those posts "Something something DQ" and started putting them in Gameplay.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

No one that's worth taking seriously blames DQ for the toxicity problem.

And while I agree that solo players will occasionally flame premades, I think this is honestly a more recent phenomenon. I did not see this until ~1 month ago, maybe even more recently. And I think it is because a lot of boosted premades have reached the point where they are no longer able to carry themselves, and they are getting a lot of flack for being boosted animals. Not saying it's justified, but there's at least a concrete reason for the hate against premades.

Odd Gnome1 votes

This as fuck. Everyone is flaming the shit out of me because I prefer to play normals with my group of friends.

The Deckowner7 votes

I had a game where I was against a 4man of high silver-low gold, my team was full solo and we had 1high bronze and 1 unranked player while rest of us were mid silver. It was so unfair the bronze and unranked fed so hard it was painful to even play for 20 minutes.

69982196_DEL11 votes

And the system is supposed to funtion well in low ELO, imagine how it goes in higher tiers.

69982196_DEL7 votes

Nothing like a good earned win, right Riot? As long as we have around 50% win rate everything is ok.

Thaurron10 votes

The bubonic plague (when untreated) has about a 50% survival rate, thus it is fair and fun for all participants.

This might be the greatest analogy to DQ I've ever seen.

Niaphim2 votes

Everyone gets 50% winrate eventually. The problem is when premades get increased winrate, even by 2-3%, this can mean a whole tier of difference.

Shadòw4 votes

DynamicQ fanboy detected.

Mr Fidori3 votes

Not really. I think I've stated in other posts that I don't necessarily think Dynamic Queue is the best (or even close) system for ranked, because its benefits don't really outweigh its drawbacks. My main issue is the majority of posts that grossly exaggerate things, make large assumptions, or use anecdotal evidence to condemn an entire system. This post, and your comment, condemn dynamic queue on the grounds of:

  1. Faulty matchmaking (an issue that predates dynamic queue, and isn't linked to it, but simply wasn't improved by it either) and,

  2. The harshly exaggerated generalization that "premade" groups of players "don't act very nice, cooperative, or supportive with solos" based on an isolated occurence. An aside: the implication is also that solo players are, any significant portion of the time, cooperative (which is also false).

tl;dr -- Not a "fanboy", or even a supporter, just a vocal neutral who dislikes faulty logic. But thanks for telling me what I like and don't like.

Shadòw1 votes

I didn't say anything else than DQ being a joke.

And that's exactly what it is to me

The 2nd Horseman7 votes

In my opinion no matter the outcome of a game, being a solo paired with a four-man premade is the worst thing. Fuck i can deal with being dove and try to go 1 for 1 in the end but god I might as well play with bots in the lack of communication a solo gets.

Calabok4 votes

they have no obligation to allow your request.

Final Remnant 15 votes

You're missing OP's point completely, it doesn't matter if they were obligated or not, he's just pointing out that leaving him out of voice chat put him at a disadvantage and that voice chat in general is a tool that gives pre-made teams an advantage over non pre-made teams.

Had a game on my smurf as a silver 1. We were a 5man, all 4 of my friends below silver 3 at the time.

The enemy team had 3 golds and 2 plats. How the fuck is it fair that silvers can be matched up against plats in a "Dynamic Queue" system.

It's because the longer the queue goes for, the more the game loosens its restrictions. 5 man premades are hard to find a match for because there are very few people who queue up in a 5 man group. So when Dynamic Queue runs for 5 minutes without finding another team to play against, it starts looking at solo players or smaller groups who might be a match. The problem is that at the same time, it's also already skipped looking for players who are at a similar level first. Instead, it looks for 5 players with loosened restrictions as well.

Teslium1 votes

Well deserved if you ask me. Smurfing + grouping with friends to ruined 5 others people game.

Leon Etoile4 votes

The biggest problem is Rito's matchmaking at all levels. With you having a premade on your team, according to Rito you should be going up against higher skilled players to balance it out. Yet, they are routinely matched against players of lower skill/rank. Which creates further imbalance and why everyone is hating DQ and viewing DQ as ruining the competitiveness of the game.

Riot gets players boosted up who then spend more money on the game. So, they then don't care.

Because your queue took too long. As queue time increases, Dynamic Queue adjusts by allowing for a greater difference between teams in order to get people into game faster. A longer wait than 3 minutes at Silver is usually a very bad sign.

Karn Bishop2 votes

one minute was too long? uh ok whatever you say.

kuzzy473 votes

And this is why stomps and imbalanced games happen.Yes udyr and trundle had troll builds but that doesn't change the fact the rank of the other team was way higher. If not matched against another 4 man premade, they should at least have better opponents to balance the odds.

Iqqi3 votes

This is why this information is never shared with us. In all the posts recently about this subject Riot has only been providing information about full 5 man premades and then only at the very highest level.

They intentionally do not provide information about matchmaking at <4 and for all the other tiers because it is very unflattering data for Riot. That data reflects what we already know. Queuing as a group regardless of the size, gives you an advantage.

If Riot was so confident that dynamic queue didnt provide advantages then this data would of been shared. It isn't and wont be because it would cause even more backlash.

Mister Support2 votes

They've provided data for winrates of all premade sizes in one of the Riot pls things about DQ. And they straight said they don't like the data and are looking to fix it.

Source? If no source then don't come out stating things. The only post regarding the subject was 20 something days ago found here. and if you will look it obviously clearly does not provide winrates for all premade sizes or even all the tiers and divisions. It is one chart with everything grouped together.

Feel free to actually post links instead of stating junk as fact.

item 1400 on Rengar [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Gene Freakz13 votes

I don't play Rengar that much, is skirmisher's better than stalkers? You don't have to be a condescending elitist a$$hole.

Elikain3 votes

Both jungle items work. Since Rengar is a burst assassin, you can get away with Thunderlord's or Stormraider's on him. Thunderlord's is for easy kills and Stormraider's is for easy escapes after a kill.

Thaurron1 votes

I think you mean Skirmisher's is for easy kills and Stalker's is for escapes, though masteries apply too.

Mister Support1 votes

The only proof about any of what you claim is from your word alone, sadly. Same goes for all the comments which are telling their own "horror stories" of DQ. The only thing that's true with this is that your team seemed to have a distinct MMR advantage, but the train is an unknown here (if he's a smurf then he'd throw his team's MMR completely out of balance). Otherwise what this game shows is that stubbornness in building full damage is what lost the game for that team, I mean a support trundle who rushed Hydra...come on. But my point is the only proof of premades here is by your word alone. So there's no reason we should truly believe what you say. However there is a problem that silver II got placed with gold I.

Gene Freakz4 votes

Look up dbddbs match history and see for yourself if you are so skeptical. OP.GG does a good job of listing which players have played with each other recently. Prove me wrong. I dare you.
