Personal rank. Team game.
The way match making works, we start with a rank.
That rank is averaged with 4 other people.
That average is used to find a "fair" competition.
-_-
I have complaints! Sorry, but I think I need numbers to express my complaints.
Let's say my personal ranking is 10.
Well, the team average needs to be around 10. Else, I'm playing outside of my rank.
The easiest way is to just make the entire team the same rank. Doesn't happen.
So, we have averages. The problem is averages will put people outside their rank.
10 + 5 + 10 + 5 + 20 = 50 50 / 5 = 10
Supposedly, we have a "fair" team. The average rank is 10. However, we have 1 person that is playing below their rank and 2 people playing above their rank.
I don't think it is fair the "20" is on a team with much less skill than themselves. Nor is it fair the "5"s are on a team with much more skill than themselves.
What happens, the 20 gets frustrated because they have to "carry" the game. Let's add enemy team.
10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 =50 50 / 5 = 10
Notice, "5" is playing against "10". That is 2 people that are expected to lose. This means, the "20" has to perform well enough to carry 2 losing lanes.
Let's say the "20" loses. How is it a mark against their personal rank because they couldn't carry 2 people that were much less skilled than them? Furthermore, the "5"s lose rank because they lost against much more skilled players. Again, unfair.
