love how rioters comment on the BS threads that don't actually matter

cupcaker··9 votes·553 views

way more than they comment on the several 50-100+ upvoted threads explaining why DQ is terrible and requesting Solo queue to be reinstated.

i don't recall seeing a red post on any threads requesting Solo queue back.

Really shows how much Riot cares :')

rip solo queue 2008-2015

then again, i'm still salty because of the fast one riot pulled in saying "we'll bring solo queue back in 3 weeks", and then never brought it back.

Riot seems very unprofessional to me. They go by online handles as a rule and put all their attention into pipe dreams like esports and forum posts that aren't game-related. They kind of come across like those guys who run SimRTK, where their whole enterprise is just a way for them to feel important. It wouldn't be the first time in history someone has created something, gotten a little taste of adoration, and then used that thing purely to gain more adoration and lord it over people.

The reason I say this is in addition to what this post addresses, it seems like everything Riot does for is players is token at best, or even pointless. "Don't like a purchase? Refund it! Oh, but you can only do so three times in your life. You want a better matchmaking system? We'll give you a pretty interface. That actually ends up further unbalancing your games under the hood. Old recolor skins pointless? Hey, let's throw you some Chromas. But only if you shell out more cash for each than it cost us to make the whole set. Problems with DDOS attacks ingame? Well that's... entirely your problem. Good luck!"

It's kind of annoying. I stopped giving them my money long ago. The irony is when they were smaller and less funded, they acted more like professionals than they do now. I feel like they've become complacent with their position at the top, and complacency leads to failure. It's starting to show in their game. Champion concepts are getting stale, every second skin is some dumb gag thing (these are fine in moderation, but too many and they all lose their appeal) and they're basically floating by on memes and League otaku who can't get enough esports at this point.

If they don't right this ship it'll run aground within the next three or four years, and that's unfortunate because they had a really nice thing going not so long ago. To be honest, if most of the team got jobs in other areas of the industry, though, they'd probably be serving the gaming industry better for the most part. When you stagnate, taking your talents to a new place with a slightly different context often breathes new life into your work.

(This is for the OP as well)

While you do have a few points, you are missing a major thing here. They can not talk about things they are already working on. Often times if that happens, it is not the person working on the project that makes the comments. When the other person makes the comments, thinga get confused, muddled, and if they answer even 1 thing about those kind of things, they will be spending an hour or more trying to message everyone that commented trying too get more answers because "it wouldnt be fair to answer one persons question and not the other." So normally they avoid that entire thing all together.

What they can freely talk about is memes and games.

Have you never had like disclosure agreements where you could not talk about "X" no matter if it is unimportant and insignificant..... but if "X" was talked about you can say "Y" as long as you do not give information about "X"? Its mostly so people dont try to rush and do a half witted job with what they are working on and then they post it on the internet/forums and say "THEY COPPIED MY IDEA FOR "X"!!!! IM GOING TO SUE THEM FOR EVERYTHING THEY OWN." And yeah. Also they dont like to start witch hunts.

Although if they did branch out a bit they might get some more ideas. But you always have to give credit where credit is due so....... gotta be careful with that branching because you could invade some bad places.

While reasonable enough, they could at least validate concerns with a "we're not looking into that" or "we're working on changing that right now, details in a few months".

They've already said like 5 times that solo queue isn't coming back. There's nothing more to say.

Dude. Seriously. Think like you're a riot employee. Why in god's name would you post on a thread that just contains a bunch of salty whiners? Riot has already made their position clear: Solo-que is not coming back right now, just cause you want it to. Maybe in the future, but not right now. No amount of flame posts will convince them otherwise. Instead, they go ahead and post on threads like Gnar's hat thing, that seems super cool, and probably contains either cool people, or people not currently raging about DQ.

I hope this helps clarify you.

Do you honestly believe most of them are allowed to talk about DQ on here?

I don't know which of them have the authority to talk about it, but the ones that do probably dont have the sand to show up here.

The ass pounding they'd receive would be on a whole other level.

Next level ass pounding shit that we can't even begin to imagine.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to be an ass. The job of the Rioters isn't to answer threads. They choose to do it sometimes. They have no obligation to answer any thread at all, let alone any one specific thread.

And you know, Rioters don't all work on everything. They each have certain parts they do. They can't answer for the other parts.

Also, maybe they want to keep certain things secret because it's in planning/designing process still.

Or, in the case of all these stupid "pls gib soloq" threads, what's the point of them answering a question they've already answered dozens of times before when the only people they'd be answering are angry whiners?

Rioters are people too. If they want to have fun they can. If they don't want to answer a question for the 50th time they dont need to.
