That wasn't a draft problem. Nasus can mostly ignore/avoid GP after level 6 and an item, and break his barrels if he has good timing. You just had a bad top laner.

Nasus can't farm GP barrels. GP also has an ult that allows him to help his team while staying in lane with Nasus. His mechanics may not be bad but his pick/ban game is.

gp is also better in teamfight

what counters a good Riven if you pick something that can duel her Rammus She will push the lanes and roam because you have shit waveclear.

How good of a Riven? Olaf is usually able to beat her. Trundle is also a nice option. If played correctly, Poppy craps on her (although I haven't tried this match in several months).

I think Olaf is considered to be one of the few true "hard counters" to Riven, in that if you play it properly you can kill her at level 6.

The real counter to Riven is knowing how her champ works and when she can and cannot all-in you.

I think anything with sustain can beat her before she has the chance to finish a big life steal item.

Other than that, tanks eat her alive. New TahmKench does that quite literally now, starting at level 1.

Taric is an even better counter now. he can simply ult her ult+combo, outtrade and survive her level 2-3 cheese, CC her unless she uses her mobility to escape, and sustain trading.

Not to mention his armor scalling and free W armor.

I climbed from B1 to plat4 in 2 months with 130 games, while being my first time playing ranked, while also playing hardcore solo, by first-picking nasus top. If you know your shit even slightly, you can simply become extremely annoying as nasus. His sustain in lane this season is stupidly oppressive and he can easily lane against everything. Gp is one of my favourite lanes because i usually free stack against him and then dumpster him after 13 mins in the game. Even tower dives are easy after baiting his remove scurvy.

P.s: You can easily stack gp's barrels. Just aa and Q after the first tick is down. If he goes for a chain, walk up to his first barrel and stack it. His punishment is pathetic anyway due to your sustain, armor stacking and his complete lack of cc after breaking his chain.

It doesnt really matter. Nasus q has 2.4 seconds cd at 40% cdr. I believe it's worth to waste a q on a barrel in order to destroy his barrel chain.

Then you walk up to him with wither, he uses remove scurvy, you retreat untill your 6 seconds cd wither is back up and you turn around and punish him. You should have about 9 seconds to do so before his cleanse comes back up. Chances are, though, he'll have to waste summoners or ult to escape.

I'm not saying Nasus is an awesome pick vs gp but, it sure isn't as hopeless as people describe it. He fairs a lot better than Darius and many other champs.

Let her push you to tower to start, Land your EQ on her every chance you get early. If you notice shes taking alot of dmg, she might have hp runes instead of armor. If thats the case get sheen first. If not get item 3024 . Always get item 3047 , and youll do just dandy. Once you get sheen, she just runs. Of course your stacks will suffer early, but when she cant stay in lane anymore, thatll fix

Vs Nasus I usually build item 3071 > item 3047 / item 3111 > item 3812

I don't shove him under tower since he can farm pretty easily, but I stand between him and his wave last hitting when needed.

This season Rivens are a pretty easy matchup. Start with cloth armor and play a bit safe early. If she tries to harass you in your wave, while also wasting her 3rd q and stun on you, then wither and beat her down(dont use E unless you're certain you can kill her). I've taken a bunch of first bloods vs rivens lately. People always underestimate wither. You outscale her pretty fast too. Just make sure to always respect the enemy jungle ganks because unlike s5, 1v2'ing this season is pretty rough.

Yeah I am fine picking Nasus into GP. Don't really have any issues with it. Though I usually have to adjust my build if I want to "win" lane, but sometimes I am fine with just having a "farm lane" against him.

Darth, you are Platinum Nasus main. Do you stream at all? I usually watch Nasus main and 2 of the ones I use to watch stopped streaming.

I dont stream but i used to upload videos with my games. Some of the got a few thousand views( one got 25k 😅), but after the new season started i deleted all of them and stopped uploading. I felt some kind of weird pressure on my shoulders, like i wasnt playing for myself any longer. So i quit that.

The best part about maining a champ, is I often do better in counter lanes simply because I play that lane so often and my opponent doesn't have nearly as much experience with their champ.

A good Gnar will have you at 50% hp before they turn Mega. And will slow you so you can't dodge the W stun. An average Gnar will feed you to the point you can even go full AD and 1v5 the enemy team.

he fell out of favor and I don't think he had a super rabid fanbase like some champs, so most people don't really play him. I think he was kinda intended to be good against juggernauts/tanks top and currently there are a lot of mage picks (which can do pretty well against him).

yeah, that plays a lot into it.

his kit is rather unreliable from the rage mechanic, so he never really sees high lvl play. that right there gives him a smaller player base because there's nobody imitating there favorite lsc pick with gnar
