CDR on Armor/HP Items

The new tank item update was great, and the addition of a 3rd magic resist item was long overdue. However, there is a glaring ovesite with it. You need armor items with CDR.

There are 6 major Armor items, Thornmail Frozen heat Iceborn gauntlets Randuins omen Sunfire cape Dead man's plate

However, only 3 of these are usable by all champions. Thornmail is a very specialized item for countering very specific situations and is not used in most games. Frozen heart and iceborn gauntlets are great, and do offer CDR, but with large amounts of mana, and no health, make them nearly unusable by any non-mana tank like Zac, Garen, Shen, Mundo, etc. Additionally, all 3 of these items Don't have health, which is crucial to a tank build and very necessary early, making it a large waste of time to build one of these early game.

So there are only 3 good armor items for the early game, and none of them have CDR. It makes no sense that all 3 MR items have CDR, especially when 2 of them don't even build out of CDR items. Randuins currently builds out of 2 Ruby crystals when for the same cost it could build out of a Kindlegem and then have CDR. Or you could have the other 2 build out of Kindlegem instead of giants belt. It wouldn't be a very large change to add 10% CDR to 1 or 2 of them.

Try building Zac right now against an AD Comp. You might get 10% CDR in the late game with a warmogs. Or new Rammus, thornmail is so integral to his kit that it is a major waste to build frozen heart until your 5th or 6th item because you need health. Meaning you don't get amy CDR until maybe 30+ minutes. And with his new rework, he desperately needs it.

It is an easy fix, and a necessary one.

Frozen heart is usually a bad buy, even on tanks with mana bars. Too much of the cost goes into the situational passive and mana which becomes unnecessary after early game

I think CDR of sunfire would be nice. Although many say they don't feel the AoE is good enough I think it's fine. Just stand in the middle of the wave lmao. Cdr would also help secure the niche of the item which is waveclear, more CDR helps with waveclear.

Deadman's/Sunfire already compete for being in EVERY tank build so adding CDR to them is only going to emphasize that and make even less build diversity for tanks (which there isn't much to begin with). Also, tanks aren't made to be stacking too much health anyway anymore (they nerfed health and buffed resists on over half your items) and if you REALLY want CDR then item 3083 , all item 3024 items , and all item 3211 items give at least 10% CDR meaning you can cap without giving up much if you so truly desire.

I voted no because I'd rather see new items added to fill the niche rather than tacking a stat on an existing item

item 3109 now builds out of item 3067 item 1031 and gives HP, Armor, and CDR. item 3056 also gives HP, Armor, and CDR.

I'd like to see 10% CDR on Thornmail tbh. item 1031 +item 3067 (ideally)

My Tank vs. AP: item 3047 item 3143 item 1409 item 3110 item 3065 item 3001 (40% CDR) My Tank vs. AD: item 3047 item 3143 item 1409 item 3110 item 3065 item 3075 (30% CDR)

I want to see ohmwrecker get a different active and be an armor item worth actually buying.

item 3742 is primary still a juggernaut item. there is no issue with tanks using it, but it should be primarily balanced for slow fighters, and they want more health. cdr is already very available to them.

adding cdr onto the item would probably come with another health nerf. riot doesnt just add stats to defensive items without taking some away. so id hate the idea.
