"It's not my job to win your lane for you."

Said the allied jungler as the enemy jungler just dove me under turret for the third consecutive time.

This line of logic needs to stop in jungling. Even if it's not your job to win somebody's lane, it is your job as a team member to help win the game. I highly doubt you're going to do that beating off jungle monsters for 20 straight minutes as the enemy laner and jungler both get absurdly fed, rip down the team's towers, and then proceed to kick the shit out of you every time you show your face.

Basically: If you can help, why the mother fuck wouldn't you help? Or do you enjoy playing basically 4v6's?

Let's just tackle the ignorant responses as a whole:

Let's use the recent game where I was Quinn against Renekton. I was winning my lane with a kill at 3-4 minutes. Vi ganked at 8 minutes and then continued to try to gank my lane. I wasn't losing.

However, this is a Renekton and a Vi, and I'm a Quinn. So at Vi's level 6, they dove me under turret pretty much effortlessly with little retaliation while I was at full health. Even fed, a full combo from Vi with a full combo from Renekton is going to kill all but maybe Taric, Malphite, and Rammus. So no, I actually wasn't losing my lane, I was winning it to the point that Renekton was either killed or forced out of lane 5 consecutive times without fail.

But again, Vi and Renekton can chain combo me to oblivion. So playing it safe, I'm at turret trying to hold my own. Let's note that my jungler is Udyr, packing a refreshing shield, stun, and the magic damage he was packing for clearing on par with Vi. Renekton had no resistances against that and wasn't actually building any damage at the time. A gank was safe. He just didn't.

Why didn't he? I dunno - he actually just didn't gank anybody and then blamed people for losing their lanes when Vi was 3/1/5 while he was 0/1/0, and he was being outcleared by the Vi as well so he wasn't doing much for the team that way. Why was Vi 3/1/5? Because she was winning peoples' lanes for him. And that was only after her first successful gank - she tried 4 more times after that and only picked up 2 kills because luckily she didn't always have her ult on her because she actually ganked unlike our jungler. But this is focusing on the entirely wrong point, really.

The actual point here is this - you are the jungler. You are competing against the other jungler. You don't do this like a lane - it's not crystal clear. No, the way you win the jungle is through the value of the lanes you get to win. Sometimes numbers are what you're looking for and sometimes it's just one specific lane you want going on. But putting your money in yourself as Udyr as opposed to one of the several heavy carries in the game is fucking stupid, especially when there is no risk on yourself as a jungler with insane sustain and bulk.

If you're Yi, fine. Farm. If you're Tryndamere (good god please don't though), fine. Farm. If you're Vi even, fine. Farm. But putting your assumption in the jungler knowing what he's doing is quite possibly the most retarded thing you will see when the majority of you even admit that relying on solo-queue people is stupid in and of itself.

Now let's tackle the last piece of idiocy floating around here, and it's the generality of the statements here. I said quite clearly, "If you can help, why wouldn't you".

If you can help.

Can help.

Can.

What you guys have generalized in response to this is that the lane must be a lost cause, the lane must have been losing beforehand, the blame must be on the laner not the jungler at all times because it is their lane.

But let me just go Vi. I'll have my mid-laner go Syndra. We'll see how long you last.

Or maybe I'll go Sion and charge down bot and decimate your team under their turret.

Or I could always grab Amumu and Q into Ult your teammate from 1100 units away because his bandage toss is one of the longest ranged shots in the game and if I just hit it from the fog of war you're not reacting in time for shit.

Point is, you don't need to be losing your lane to be in trouble or to be forced under turret. Sometimes all that's needed is pressure put on you by the enemy team. Pressure that is caused by a jungler and can only reasonably be requested to be relieved by a jungler.

Basically, what you've all just said is, "I'm not going to do shit about you being in a 2v1, and it's your fault for being in a 2v1", and you have generalized this to just about all situations. If you can't realize how idiotic that kind of logic is, I can do nothing for you. You are in a league of stupidity all your own that I cannot help you escape.

In that situation it's generally better for the jungler to help snowball a winning lane.

Or stop it before it gets out of hand. It's not like it happens three times in 60 seconds - that is a long, drawn out 5-6 minutes.

But hey, the freefarming Renekton shouldn't be a problem for you later, right? Right? Right?

Renekton has like 0 carry potential unless he's going damage. You shouldn't be too worried :P

wrong. you would be right if games would progress beyond 30 minutes right now. then yes, he would fall off at some point.

but if he manages to snowball into midgame, youre gonna have a real problem on your hands. if they push through to your nexus by 30 minutes because renekton wrecks all your other lanes before falling off, then he carried the game.

and right now its easier than ever to end a game early by snowballing.

Renekton's average 50% winrate and 50% winrate at minutes 20-25, only consistently dropping lower indicates that you are wrong. He specializes in winning before 20 minutes.

going 3 - 0 like in ops example and taking the turret before 10 minutes would kinda do that.

Yep.

I know I played him a while back, and with the jungler's help I got the turret at 4 minutes. Granted they buffed the turrets after that, but still.

Dead serious, are people really being serious saying games end fast? Like now that preseason isn't a new thing and its almost over most likely, it just truly baffles me that people say the games end fast.

I play LEague a lot and I have yet to see a game end prior to 20 minutes. Most games are no different than before, usually 20-40 minute games. Sure the games that lasted longer than 40 minutes are rare but I am not complaining. A game that lasted an hour is not something I want to repeatedly do. But 20-40 minutes is average and still is even now.

depends where youre playing. at gold and below, or in normals people are either bad enough to constantly throw, or they just fuck around. so games drag out longer.

but further up, games constantly end at 12 to 15 minutes. and i mean i literally see the mid inhib go down at that point and either surrender or the nexus at 30 minutes tops.

when you have 2 teams that are very unlikely to throw a lead, games absolutely snowball out of control right now.

If he DOES go damage, he has no resists. So stun him and just down him quickly. No hassle. It's that or in Silver/Bronze, most Renek's get Hydra/Gage and assume they're MaRin

Pretty much. A tanky renekton can't carry, but a glasscannon renekton gets cc'ed to death.

But god forbid, if that glasscannon renekton somehow reaches you, you'de going to have a few new holes in you.

It depends honestly. I've seen good Renek's flank and kill the backline, and bad ones jump right through the frontline to the back and get exhausted and then killed.

If you're a good enough renek, a combination of flash, slice, and dice will get you everywhere.

Yeah! But that's if you're smart. Talking from a silver/bronze level, the chances of that working are lame. They'll probably flash, wait a second and then E after they were exhausted. LOL.

Even gold renektons I've seen do that quite often. It surprises me that people have such a tough time correctly playing Renekton.

Sometimes it's better to snowball another lane.

Sometimes it's better to reset that lane if possible.

Sometimes it's better to wait and countergank (by preparing with vision by both the laner and jungler, not just one) instead of trying to reset.

Sometimes it's better to have another lane help you reset that lane, to make up for the power difference in the two main laners.

Honestly, there's no concrete answer to every situation. Part of a jungler's job is assessing the situation and responding to what he/she finds appropriate. Honestly, I feel like shit if I leave a lane behind to snowball another lane, but sometimes you have to do it to win. Pragmatism and idealism don't always line up, and as much as I hate it that's what experience has taught me.

Go ahead and feel angry for it. Not even the most hardcore jungle main can blame you, try as we might to deny it. At least understand that some of us do what we do for a reason, and adapt to the situation. Sometimes you're going to play Malphite and know you're just going to be an ult bot because the Yasuo got fed and it's better to focus on defending him and setting up plays. Sometimes you're going to play Orianna and become a second support with no chance of carrying on your own. Shit happens.

Also, some junglers are shit at their jobs. Not gonna deny that one either.

Zarkkast5 votes

Well, it is not.

Sometimes the laner fed so badly that the jungler's best option is to try to feed other lanes in hopes their teammates can help.

There comes a point that if the jungler ganks he'll likely give a double kill to the enemy because the laner fed just too much.

Sometimes the laner doesn't even have to be fed; they just need to have hit a powerspike.

The number of times you can turn a gank into a double kill on Rumble with Haunting Guise, Sorcerer Shoes and his ultimate is hilarious. Renekton is another good choice for this.

I did that with Renekton yesterday! :D

People jungle because they have the impression it's a faultless role, no matter what you do they have an excuse "Uh I'm jungling lol" Yet if don't help them when they get invaded, or help take dragon or rift herald, they go insane

Shonjl3 votes

To be fair, jungle is by far the most important role no matter who or how you try to word it.

Laners jobs at its most simpliest way of saying it is to CS for items, try to get kills if possible and not die. Thats it. For the most part they only have to deal with 1 other person, or 2 in bots case, with the occasional jungler which can be avoided entirely with vision.

Junglers have to get their cs and levels in the jungle which is spread out and vastly lower than in lanes, it isn't uncommon at all to see junglers being 1-2 levels behind all the laners besides supports and even then thats maybe. They have to focus on scuttle control which is more vision, worry about getting invaded, focus on the lanes and when to gank and help them, how much time they put into a lane, how long they are willing to wait, how willing they are to wait to try giving the kill to a laner instead of taking it themselves. Objective control, getting that dragon early or after a successful gank, maybe getting a rift herald, giving up their blue or red buff to their team which is actually weakening themselves.

Did I mention all this time they are by themselves? And unlike the laners, they have a lot less gold and xp and levels to them so are usually weaker, that they have no towers to help them in case of trouble and are literally have nothing watching their backs?

So yeah, while its never a good idea to be a douche as a jungler, they rightfully deserve that little extra attention and focus over a Laner. They are usually the one the determines the outcome of a game after all. While laners can get fed themselves, they usually get help from a jungle to get going. If I am getting dragon and you are bot lane twiddling your dicks and don't help you are damn sure I will chew you out if there was no reason you didn't move. Its one thing if the enemy bot was there, another story if you are just sitting there csing while I am trying to get a dragon which helps the entire team and you can't help while I have to deal with it as well as the enemy jungler nearby as well.

I love to jungle, Fiddlesticks is my all time favorite. He provides alot of CC and dmg in team fights, can clear jungle and gank at full health (slowly clear that is) and can fear enemy jungle at right momment to secure your team's smite. Jungling is a very complicated role. When I say what I do I aim my remarks not at the jungle role all together, but the bad junglers, not the ones who are trying and learning, but the ones who just don't care, and excuse their mistakes as being in a role that ideally can't make a mistake.

Since there is no right or wrong way to jungle, the reason I like it is also the reason I don't like, because the bad junglers that don't own to thier short comings is what creates the negative atmosphere towards sincere junglers. Like, have you ever met a kind Riven player? It breaks me heart, between our team will trash them and they just apologize and ask what they can do to make things better and it's shocking.

AyRe CoNteMpT2 votes

rito should make it so that if you pick smite, reports have no effect because junglers get ALLLLLLLLL the shit.

oh shit you got dived 3 times? well shit bro, this means you lost your lane horribly beforehand to even allow a dive. if you are full hp and have your main cooldowns up, there is no way non-fed champions can dive you. its impossible.

im not a very good midlaner and if i gotta midlane, i play ziggs because i liked to play him a while ago and now hes the only midlaner i can somewhat play. i dont consider ziggs very strong right now but i still play him because i know how to lane with him. i can waveclear pretty good without dying to ganks or anything and ill just push and hold my tower. i dont go auto attack the enemy tower to get ganked instantly and i dont walk into brushes without vision. i simply waveclear and scale as that is EXACTLY my job description. its very hard for anyone to do anything against this playstyle because of how safe it is and if they roam, i can still follow up with my bomb. its not as strong as roaming myself but it covers my team at least a little bit. ill just ping the roam and stay in lane, waveclearing.

im almost undiveable because i got satchel charge and barrier so if they dive me, they will either die or ill get away easily. my damage is no joke as im a strong champion and the towers are very strong too, early on. the only way they can dive me is if the enemy zed roams, my botlane doesnt give a fuck about pings and he magically gets 4:0 while the enemy jungle zac is 3:0 from ganking toplane and getting doublekills on my top and jungle. NOW they can dive me but that is out of my hands.

in a regular game, i can do my job no matter what they do because my champion is strong enough to do it.

if you are "losing your lane" aka you cant waveclear without dying and if you get dived 3 times in a row, you have to take some serious coaching.

Shonjl1 votes

It depends on the situation. I know it sucks being shut down that hard. But if the Jungler was saying that in a way without being a douche. He can be correct.

In situations like that I sometimes write off the lane and help the other 2 and hope they make up for it. Say you are Lux going against Yasuo and the Yas killed you 4 times already, there is no point for me to really help since he will either just blow you up and run from me, or ignore you and blow me up and walk away.

It sucks but its true. Yes some junglers do it to be asses, but some do it for the better of the entire game. If I am jungling and I see a lane losing so hard that even with ganks it probably wont make a difference, I will never go to that lane. I will focus the other 2 lanes and try to get them ahead and hope them and myself can make up for that one enemy being strong and you being weak. Its not meant to be taken negatively but people all want to be in the spotlight so if they take it that way that is their problem.

Perfect example I would say is LB mid or Panth top or Heimer mid or top. I won't even waste my time at all ganking those lanes since there is not much point. Heimer can't really do crap without settting up so if you force a teamfight he is literally not even a threat. LB only gets worth something if she is fed but even then she can only blow one person up then run away or die, not to mention she is hard to gank so might try once early one then not bother. Panth becomes obsolete even if fed after 20 minutes. I will just tell the lane to be defensive since they will no matter who they are will outscale him when mid game comes around.

It also depends on how you the player are. You didn't mention how far into the game you were when you died for the 3rd time, that plays a big part. If that is 3 times within a game that lasts 20-30 minutes then its not a big deal, if you died 3 times before the 10 minute mark. I don't care who you are or what lane you are, if that was a 1v1 or 2v2 in bots case, you are being written off as worthless and will be ignored even if you are a champ that carries hard late game.

At the end of the day, it isn't your job as a laner to determined who gets the most attention, its the jungler's job. And junglers have different skill levels. Some are crap and will suck or not help people, some are good and will make sure to see who can get ahead, who needs help and can be redeemed and who to not even try with. A good jungle won't help a lane that is already a lost cause and doing so is a waste of time for both the laner and jungle. Nothing short of babysitting that lane will save them and that is too risky since if the lane is fed already, the jungle runs a risk of dying themselves.

Not happening.

Woodakoodashooda1 votes

If I cannot win my lane then I attempt to farm safely.

But if I am unable to do at least that much then I abandon my lane altogether and roam.

When my first turret is gone, the enemy will finally find something else to do and I will be able to pick up a juicy farm every now and again. In the meantime, I'll entertain myself by terrorizing the living shit out of all the other laners who aren't my problem.

xReadyPlayerOnex1 votes

The mindset of most players is flawed. Laners blaming jungle, jungle blaming laners... etc. You probably made some horrible plays to get into the position you were in and were asking for help from a Jungler who had no idea how to help you. There's only one truth to this game. The ONLY player you can control is yourself. Everything else is a request or a prayer. If you're getting beat that hard, it's probably cause you aren't playing your champion correctly.

Junglers with enough experience can tell if you're just a shit laner.

He probably didn't think you were worth the time investment, and figured it would be more beneficial to make positive gains somewhere else.

As a top lane main, even if my jungler is just safely farming in the jungle, to me, that's more useful than someone feeding in lane non stop. It's not the greatest thing he could be doing, but I don't see it as a negative loss. Macro is a large part of Moba games, and is a positive action.

He might not have the greatest amount of pressure, but at least he's making positive gains in the process.

i dont understand most junglers logic. . .the idea that junglers are exclusivelytheir for objectives imo is wrong and neglectful. when i jungle i consider my role to be the person to even out lane advantage when your team looses it and to gain lane advantage where u can when your ahead. by gaining lane advantage bot you can almost guarantee a dragon and same can be said about mid. and if u can give top lane advantage your top laner will have an easier time getting out of top and being able to help with mid ganking and tele bot ganking etc. . .if you dont even out your lanes when they get behind none of the stated can be achieved. i feel as a jungler your the most important role cause u can dictate what is possible anywhere on the map and at any givin time. hiding in a jungle just farming saying im just here to get dragon or baron or that tower now that its pushed is absurd to me,;that logic gimps your team so much =(
