Taking a break... And why you should too
I personally don't like the direction that League of Legends is going. Sure, some of the things Riot has done with the game are OK, like addressing shield spams and other annoying things; some things however just make League not playable at this point in time.
From my experience, the top lane is currently a mess, and probably will always be (ask Hashinshin, Riot's first source of design changes). Some champions dumpster others (similarly to how Darius dumpsters melees) and needs to be addressed in this regard.
Bot lane feels a lot less like a 4-5 v 2 recently, however there are still extremely oppressive lanes (like Brand supports, Draven paired with any high damage/hook) that while are not entirely "unwinnable" are too oppressive to have any sort of fun in and it feels like Riot is moving away from traditional AD carries when they say they want bot lane to have anyone be played in it. I also hate the changes to bot lane's items, but someone else has probably expressed their opinion on this already.
The better jungler usually does have an enormous sway in how the game will end up, especially in low elo. High early game pressure champions tend to do very well up until mid to high plat, which is fine except for the fact they these champions should usually thrive off of inattentiveness or misplay. Many times, things that are just more oppressive early can straight up win against teams that fall behind at all.
Mid lane is the only lane that I feel might have a bit of balance to it but that stems mainly from the fact that I don't play/keep up with mid lane much.
I feel that constructive criticism is thrown away by Riot and that most of the time Riot releases gimicky crap that isn't fun for anyone but the person playing the champ. I like to play League a lot and it had been my favorite game for a long while, however the way League is today makes it more frustrating than the trouble is worth. I will probably stop playing/spending money on League, and I would encourage you to do the same until the state of the game is tweaked.
