Reasons why Ekko is OP/broken...

I haven't played league since before he was released. I was just curious. His win rates doesnt seem like he is OP with less than 50%. I also checked Probuilds.com and the top tier players are not achieving win rates that suggest Ekko is OP. I remember when Jinx was released she had a 50-55% rate and there was less of a witch-hunt out for her on the boards than there is for Ekko which is currently at 47% win rate.... So what makes him OP? I want to understand.

Ekko really isn't OP at all. I find that people just aren't used to the way his kit works yet, and because of it constantly misjudge how to fight against him.

And no I'm not an Ekko player trying to justify him in anyway. If you look at my summoner page and check what champions I have, you will see that I do not own Ekko.

To my knowledge, the only actually champion whom was OP when released that I have actually played is Rek'sai. When she was released it was easy for me to go 1v3 and win. Now it's impossible for me to go 1v2 and win unless I'm fed. Based on my experience with having both played, and played against and OP champ, I completely believe that Ekko really isn't OP.

He is neither OP nor Broken.slightly overtuned, if played well very deadly, but thats it. Typical assasin qq is all.

He's just overtuned, to be frank. His abilities all have a shitton of telegraph so most complaints that he's broken are really far off. On the other hand though, a 1.3 AP Ratio is pretty damn scary.

Gnar still brings more to his team and deals tons of dmg - but builds full tank = balanced

Ekko makes it seem like you get outplayed so people get pretty mad.

I swear, the most annoying and OP Ekko build is AP Tank Ekko. Two of my friends use this and it's seriously annoying. Like, he's still way strong and almost umkillable.

Reasons:

  1. CC on every ability
  2. Instaheal & Shield.
  3. Inescapable (even with Nautilus Janna) which are said to be very successful at escaping.
  4. Teleports to you and back (like Leblanc but its a legitimate TP)
  5. Insane Scaling.

I just don't get why someone needs 8 AP scalings in their kit

Jinx has had that winrate...and there have been a shit ton of people asking for nerfs lol. Anyway, you can't look at win rate the week a champ is released. No one knows how to play them. The thing with Ekko is, he has 3 slows, a movement speed buff, a stun, a shield, a blink, a dash, and a heal....while still having more damage in his kit than Veigar.

I think the dust will settle and people will stop complaining about him eventually, it's just that there's always a witch hunt when new champion comes out (or the exact opposite and you've got people complaining about how useless/buggy they are).

At most I think they'll touch his scaling a bit to prevent him from building CDR, but a lot of his damage is very avoidable if you pay attention.
