Cinderhulk Wu Kong jungle

Please explain to me why anyone would do this? Just finished losing a game with a cinderhulk wu kong jungle on my team that would have been winnable if he had a more traditional wu kong build.

Even with Wu's passive does it ever make any kind of sense to go Cinderhulk?

a major benefit of cinderhulk is that his clone will also have the aoe burn. this significantly helps his clear speed and is helpful in teamfights. And of course as you mentioned bonus armor and MR scales with health. It really comes down to what your team comp looks like.

Interesting. Thanks for the answer.

I agree that going cinderhulk or warrior are both valid choices and that it depends on the rest of your team comp. If you have enough frontliners, you can go warrior, but if you have to tank for your team, cinderhulk is really the better choice.

why is this up voted. the burn on the clone you speak of, if it even exists is negligible.

after warrior wukong clears camps with Q E and a few aa's. Doesn't even have to waste W any more which is good so he can gank more quickly or escape if he is invaded.

and in fights. wukong is poke with E Q W to run out. or he W's in and goes for the all in no turning back. cinder hulk really is better in extended fights sure, but wukonh is in and out. or he is in and you die. i guess if you have 0 tanks it's possible, but wukong has no peel except for his ult, which is better used as an engage.

in that case if you needed a tank don't pick fucking wukong.

It adds survivability. It has synergies with your kit. If you go cinder, then he won't be "in and you die".

my phrasing was poor. I meant wukong goes in and THEY die, or he goes in and W's out. The fights with wukong shouldn't last very long. either he all ins and gets blown up, or he has a good engage and their team falls apart. squishies hit by his ult die and anyone else runs for the hills

since you'll be rushing a jungle item, imo cinder hulk makes you too weak for too long. again, full tank wukong will do fuckall in terms of peeling in a close match. so it's better to rush warrior and then go tank, or as i do, rush warrior then hydra/BC, then either mix items like Maw or just straight up defensive items.

warrior has so much more synergy with his kit. It enhances 3/4 abilities. Cinderhulk only enhances 1 , the W. You could potentially argue it synergies with the ult since you'll be on top of them doing passive dmg in addition to the ult, but really you will see more damage added from warrior.

not saying don't go tank at all. but make yourself actually useful as an early jungler and buy warrior. Then go all the tank if you want.

There's little reason to NOT go warriors on wukong.

You are an initiator, not a tank. 40% Cdr and just hop on their adc.

You CAN be a durable frontliner. It depends on the rest of your team comp, you can't judge a decision like that in a vacuum.

But for instance, let's say you have Fiora top, Veigar mid, Zyra support, you really should build tanky as Wukong.

Being tanky doesn't prevent you to do your job well as an initiator, you can still go invisible and then ult in the middle of your team.

If you are good enough at the game, you will win many of your games, and rise in ranked. No champion, rune, mastery or teammate is holding you back. No need to make a "Insert Champion Name Here" is OP thread every week.

Cinderhulk was the meta build for months.

I would start off by saying that he might just really enjoy Wu and have tried it on him to see how it goes. I play a lot of Xin Zhao, and have played Cinderhulk Xin once or twice to see how it goes (specifically to see how well he works as a tank if my team really needed it because we lost the early game). On the other hand, there really isn't a need to go cinderhulk on Wu kong as there are other people that are much better tanky cc machines, which is all Wu would become with it.

exactly this. if you're gonna go tank which is what people here seem to be arguing for,

pick an actual tank that can CC and peel. Wukong has 1 (ok its good aoe peel), on a massive CD.

you can engage on their back lane and waste that peel, because you won't be killing them with cinder hulk. Or you can use it on their front line to peel which their tanks will shrug off and then you have zero peel for the entirety of the fight as well as little damage to contribute

It's not that bad If he gets behind cinderhulk/tank prevents him from falling off Look at trick2gs xin zhao "my way" jungle videos on you tube. He goes cinderhulk on xin and still does really well. Tanks always a safe way to go especially if your behind.

Also, warriors is so cost efficient with all that juicy AD early on in the game. In fact, you can go rango mode and just get cdr boots and buy warriors with 4 longswords and still make a scary build path.

Armor pen and AD is the name of the game. Leave cinderhulk for things that don't have ridiculous scaling.

If Wu's entire team is squishy DPS and they need a burly hard tanky initiator, then cinderhulk isn't a terrible call. I'd still sneak in some AD just due to his bananas ratios, but don't heckle choices unless they make NO sense. Warrior is crap anywho. There are a ton of better AD items for CDR.

Cinder + Cleaver + Deadman's + Banshees + Titanic hydra + boots would be a viable Wu build. Step outta your box, man.
