Riot has killed League of Legends

I'm not sure if it's intentional, or if they just don't have anyone at the company who is willing to speak up, but slowly and surely, Riot has killed League of Legends. I know they want to do new and cool stuff, introduce awesome champions and unique kits, but with what they've introduced in the past 6 months, the game is basically dead. I am frustrated, but let me try and explain this in a way beyond just a rant. League is fun, to me, because there is a huge variety of champions that are unique and viable to play. Some may get nerfed or buffed at one time or another, but overall it should be the case that any champion can be played if the person playing is skilled. But that's not true anymore In all the games I play I rarely, almost never, see beyond 10-20 champions being played. And they're all the recently released or reworked ones because they're the only viable champions. Take bard for instance. He is a support that can be a super tank, have incredible CC, and offers more utility than almost any other champion. Why would anyone ever choose another support? Or look at Kalista as an ADC, she has unlimited jumps, super strong damage, and has an ultimate that both saves another teammate and can start a fight. Or look to mid lane with Yasuo, who can dance around any champion any time of the day, and can deal more damage than almost any other champion in the game. My point is there is no diversity anymore, it is the exact same champions every round, every time, for months on end now. The new and unique mechanics make it so old champions have no room because they can't warp an entire team through the wall, or keep everyone alive, or turn the tide of the game with pressing R. It's not that older champions need re-worked, at least most of the time, it's that the new champions are bringing such good utility and power that nobody else is worth playing or giving that up. I don't want to be forced to play a champion because another one literally can't match it in damage, utility, or whatever. Sure there are counters, but I'm talking about an entire game shift. When was the last time you saw an older champion? I would wager, unless you're playing them, it's not very often. So I am going to be done for a while, until.. well, honestly I kind of doubt I'll be coming back. These are my thoughts, and if you can still enjoy the game, go ahead. But I loved being able to play more than 10 champions and not get yelled at by my team back in the day. Those times are good, and I lament that fact. Best of luck to everyone else though, cheers.
