There's been nothing but love for mages, assassins, adcs and fighters. So far, tanks and supports have been given the beating of neglect. Tanks can't last very long considering there's multiple runes and items that counter tanks easily. Supports are fifty fifty and so far, only Shurie's is helping them. So, I ask this: Are tanks just gone?
No, riot already killed tanks. I do a lot of on hit builds and the +4000 or so HP for baron made 0 impact on how fast it dies with jungle item+BOTRK+Guinsoos. Tanks are in the same spot. You can give them 4,000Hp but on hit combined with things like conqueror and they'll still drop like a rock.
This isn't even taking into account any potential 40% penetration, because frankly, it's not needed anymore.
Tanks were killed a while ago. You only see them in pro play because teamplay actually works at that level. Although Sion and Malphite can basically force a won lane by being huge bullies early on with comet, other tanks don't have that luxury.
The worst part is that no matter how weak tanks get, people will still call for their heads and demand they be nerfed
