Who was the lead designer of Pyke?
I'd like to know who's name I should be LOUDLY cursing whilst this champion is pounding my ass in solo q. It be nice to have a name to scream my idle death threats at.

Pyke has a lot of lane sustain and CC, but he has ferociously long cooldowns in the early game, and everything is a skillshot. If you can bait out his abilities and dodge them, you have a huge window where the enemy ADC has zero peel. He's also a melee support, meaning you can more easily go for last hits without being punished as hard for contesting theirs. His waveclear is also really terrible.
The way to lane against Pyke is to keep your lane in "priority". What this means is you want to allow them to push the wave just in front of your tower's range, without letting the tower kill minions. You not only have the safety of your tower to prevent him from diving in with E, but you also force them to overextend for last-hits, which Pyke is not good at securing or supporting his ADC that far forward. This also gives your jungler easy ganks, since they have farther to run back to their tower, usually forcing Pyke to burn his E and/or W to avoid dying rather than using it on you. Once he's committed cooldowns, then push out the wave, punish them for last hits, push it to tower, then back off and let it push back to you.
Wave management is key to beating Pyke. If you don't manage the wave, he's just gonna all-in you or look to roam to other lanes. You want to keep him on your side of the map so he can't be aggressive without risking death, but also keep the fight over minions going so he can't just leave.

Pyke has consistently around 48% winrate in all tiers. He's balanced and gets hard countered by Leona and Morgana to the point where playing him against those champions could be considered trolling.

Pyke balanced af. Just don’t feed him early, which is pretty easy, and you’re fine. He’s not garbage like Zed.

He's not overpowered and I personally have no issues vs him (although Aftershock does make him sort of annoying sometimes). Maybe he's just a problem champion for you specifically?
