why's azir's winrate at 44%?

Champions - League of Legends

I'm just wondering since he has a good ult and long poke, his winrate should be pretty high (close to 50 if not higher), but I was very surprised.
So any ideas?

It's called skill cap and skill floor. Basically, when played right he has extremely high potential (amazing ult, great range, excellent scaling, etc.) but a new player or someone who hasn't practiced with him can and often will have a very hard time using him correctly. Positioning his soldiers is tricky, he has a rather unique build path, and is extremely reliant on good strategy and positioning within a fight, which are all easy to 100% screw up.

He's bugged to shit and back, also hes hard to play... Put those two together and IF you land a combo, it might not even work!

He is a strong champion, but he takes a LOT of practice to get good with. Plus the fact that he needs lots of quality of life improvements because he is so bugged.

He is hard to win with.

Winrate only indicates how easy it is to win with a champion.

I have a 59% Win rate with him and no joke I'm skilled with him but team in rank/solo que always suck. Reason why he has a low win rate overall is because he takes extreme skills to use. He looks easy and op with his damage but trust me when you use Azir solider you have to keep focus with being in range with attacking while focusing Azir movement. Ya he is good late game but only good early game if you are a pro Azir and know what the hell you are doing. His ult.....Not really that good as you think, in my opinion it isn't all good at all.

Reason is because he can only use ult when they are up close and mostly happens when you vs a top lane which they can just walk around it if they slow you since they wall is small until lvl 3. I really dis recommend using E then ult since E always put you in the front line and if you build a crazy Ap heavy azir then chances are they can kill you really fast late game since I see people build so much AP that late game they will die if he get caught with a stun. Even thought he has his E to dash away it really doesn't matter since you have to set up W which if you play Azir takes time and the distance you trave; with E is super small unless you W then Q THEN E.

Well Azir´s winrates suffer under 2 3 conditions:

  1. He´s Lategame oriented - Like Vayne he´s a monster with fullbuild. Unlike Vayne he´s AP and has no trueDMG so his Mid-Game will be not as good as hers as well. So again he has troube to be a relevant force to carry his Team.
  2. His Difficulty - commanding the soldiers on lane is hard and needs some training, conducting them in a Teamfight is... artistry! xD (3. He is still bugged as hell xD - his features are totaly random Q,E interactions, not working Ultimates and (my highlight) Non-AAing/Non-DMGing Soldiers. xD)

because if your team doesn´t know how to fight with Azir they´ll just do crazy stuff and ruin your day. just check out his winrate in pro-play/higher 5v5 - he needs a controlled environment to really shine, for chaotic SoloQ he´s not ideal.

It might have something to do with his bugs. His soldiers regularly attack the air (no targets in range) and then fail to do damage when commanded to attack, currently.

Also, nerfs.
