An Ode To The Legit Supporters
Dear league, for some it has been fun to actually help others get ahead. The sad part is how an overpopulated number of people would rather not support and it has become quite apparent that these players would rather be the ones to get ahead by leaving their teammate(s) behind. We legit supporters do not ask for much since our kits are designed to carry a team's potential and when the team has no potential well... lets just say that it isn't our fault that some surfaces just aren't meant to shine. Lately though, we supporters lost out on the ability to get our crew ahead because of the simplistic gold shutdown system and the fault lays on what league has been since it's launch, "getting ahead and snowballing". Since the start of season 7 and up to now- the game has been all about damage and nothing else. Until the creators remove the system or widen the gap, we supporters cannot help our team end or carry. I'm sorry, but this is why the gap of players for the support role has become very large.
Welcome everyone and thanks for chosing to read this Discussion. Today, I would like to bring up a sensitive topic which a lot of league has abandoned: the legit role of a supporter. These are the players who sacrafice their ability to live, turn a team fight and or make plays within the game. They are the controllers of any kill, of any ability to fight another fight, or to simply sustain, but they just about always take the damage and near their death or die trying. Needless to say, these champions are: Tahm Kench, Braum, Lulu, Thresh, Taric, Nami, Rakan, Sona, Soraka, and Janna. I would also try and give a holler to Yummi, but I'm not too sure about someone who is created to abandon someone whom'st they're meant to be dedicated to. Anyhow… To this degree, you will find 2+ separately unique forms of CC within their kit/design- whether it be heal and peel, anti crowd control and sustain, engage and disengage or damage removal and interuption.
Moving on, we can see that these are sort of "the forgotten standard set" for the role. With every new champion that comes out, the already nuanced picks are replaced by other champions who counter another and so forth. These list on as: Lux, Brand, Pyke, Anivia, Annie, Leona, Blitz, Veigar, Gragas, Karma, Pantheon, Morgana, Nautilus, Neeko, Zyra, Zoe, ... you get my point. And that is because they lead in one thing while they sacrafice something else which is very vital. Responsibility. This actually explains why dual comps botlane that replace the marksmen usually has a harder time winning; At that point, it is all about lane pressure and champion peaks. Back to my original point, everyone can agree on one thing, if you increase support viability (i.e. the standard) then they're seemingly busted in higher ELO hands because they're abusable at that point. Me- trying to prove that I have a non biased perspective here, I still feel like it would be nice to see more supportive champions whom are designed around the ORIGINAL concept that makes a support viable-and not uberly busted. After all, playing a mage/assassin is a selfish pick and a fighter/brawler is just looking for trouble.
and her R is stopping any and all dmg on your team.
