Are marksman basically becoming a second support?

Are utility marksman picks on the rise because they are safer? Is it because they are still relevant when they are behind, or unable to get close to do damage? I find it interesting that utility marksman have taken the forefront and was looking for hypothesis from people more educated in the matter than me. Thanks so much guys!

If you peel for your ADC and they don't build like a hurr durr, they will still do massive amounts of damage.

The problem is, everyone wants to "carry", so your team picks stupid shit like Noc jg and GP top and Zed mid. So you have no peel on your team and the enemy bruisers can run right through you and rekt your ADC, making them seem useless.

TBH, that is what marksman should kinda be from the conceptual standpoint. Even from the beginning of their RPG origins, they have always been more of a utility class than a straight up damage monster. they could be such fi you wanted or needed them to be, but that wasn't what they were known/intended for specifically.

In my eyes, the mistake was calling it ADC in the first place, as it set a bad precedent for what the class is meant to do. Not to say Marksman don't carry. They do. And they dont do so any less than before. It is just now they are not so dominantly the center focus of the entire game like they used to necessarily. instead , they're role is more to just provide consistent damage and help from the backline, as they were always meant to, and i can't help but think this is a good thing for the future.

"I'm saying ADCs are now as bad as support, plz buff."

Eh, no. Supports often can't do the same insane damage an ADC can. Don't get me wrong, we supports are invested in your success, but you are not supports. You're still damage. Just utility is NOT just for supports, it just helps you secure kills better.. and God forbid, it lets ADCs actually help the team with something else other than just damage. That Ashe arrow/sight can help your midlaner get a kill... or to see where the enemy jungler is heading (long range sight that, admittedly, us supports would LOVE to have).

No. Supports are a role that are forced to live on welfare yet still somehow be a viable member to the team while getting little to none of the glory even if they're the ones that made those plays most of the time.

No, marksmen are not support. Far from it.

There aren't that many to be honest. Jhin, Ashe, Caitlin (kinda)

They pair MF with Ashe because when they both get 6, their ults are literally cheese. Flash or die
