Riot there's a reason we keep talking shit to you on boards instead of just leaving your game.

Yes League has a very large time investment to learn and stay good at. Many of us also bought way too many skins so our accounts are a monetary investment as well.

But, the main reason we keep bullying you on these boards is because we remember when this game used to be great. League has always had flaws but it used to be worthy of the title of the top competitive game. Now league still only has that title as an inheritance passed down to a game that is a spoiled fat bastard and represents its father only in appearance and name.

It's not too late though. The game still has potential, but holy shit guys you have to work with us and more hope is lost everyday you do more baffling shit like buffing Renekton and Vayne. Maybe you guys can do things Runescape style and have the community vote on changes. Maybe you can beg Morello to come back. Whatever you do the first thing you have to stop is stop whatever the hell you're doing. Most of these patches these days read like someone urinating on a once sacred artwork.

Morello told me he trained Meddler and Repertoir (however you say his name) to follow in his footsteps.

Well he either didn't train them well enough, or those two decided to just say screw him and have done things their own way.

Either way, the game went to shit when he left, along with a certain someone who decided to bring in the horrible concept of Runes Reforged that was used similarly, and had horrific results, in another game.

The game was fine as it was, but they chose to fatten their own wallets instead of thinking about the millions of players that loved (and still love) the game.

I would be curious to see some real numbers as to whether the game is declining. I mean, I feel that way sometimes, particularly with the game quality this season, however, I've yet to see any actual evidence that's true.

For me personally, the game was about at it's best in Season 7. That's not even nostalgia speaking, some of my champs weren't even all that great during s7, and I started in s4 during the Rengar and Khazix era. At the time though the game could still get messed up for a week or so during a bad patch, but then it felt like that would get fixed by the time the next patch rolled around. Now it's like the whole game is just always on that one bad patch that never seems to end. The game is playable, but frustrating and not as fun.

I would rehash why that is, but I think everyone has done it to death by now including myself in a number of posts. Riot seems to have their own idea of where they want the game to go and are glued to it.

Yet another quite precise summary that will not be read by anyone who could change anything.

They literally do not care anymore. Everything they do for this game is for ESPORTS and the viewers now. They just want BIG PLAYS, FAST DEATHS, FLASHY HYPER MOBILE CHARACTERS. "OOOO AAAA WOOW." Instant gratification is the game now. Fast quick 20 mins games. Lowering skill caps by adding jungle timers, buff timers., dragon timers. Giving everyone the ability to do damage. Everything is dumbed down to get new players and make it easier to watch. The league of the past is over and I think we all have to accept that. This is coming from someones whos been playing on and off since season 2 and spent about over $1,000 USD on RP for skins and champs etc.

I used to love (insert hobby), I don't like it anymore, but bcs I/somebody invested money into it, I won't stop, eventhough it drives me crazy.

It's like when my mom forced me to take flute lessons, I didn't like it, but hurr durr I had to buy the expensive one, so you will go, period.

But, the main reason we keep bullying you on these boards is because we remember when this game used to be great.

Nostalgia is bitch, man.

League has always had flaws but it used to be worthy of the title of the top competitive game.

What changed?

The game still has potential, but holy shit guys you have to work with us and more hope is lost everyday you do more baffling shit like buffing Renekton and Vayne.

Imagine thinking that Rene "buffs" are somehow problem, when Kleds/Casses/Pykes changes missed our beloved boards filled with silvers. Vayne buffs, yeah kinda, still better having single target only adc overpowered than Sivir/Jinx/Trist/(insert hypercarry).

have the community vote on changes

If you truly want this game to die, then yes, we should.

Maybe you can beg Morello to come back.

You mean the guy that was called idiot, r%%%%% etc, by same ppl that are crying nowadays? At least be honest, nothing will feel like old LoL(unless Riots release fast cashgrab, LoL Classic), nothing will make you happy until things are like you want them to be.

Most of these patches these days read like someone urinating on a once sacred artwork.

Riot: releases small patch Community: "Why are you even doing this, there is near to no change in those"

Riot: releases patch that can shuffle meta around Community: "Boy, have you lost your mind? 'cause I'll help ya find it! (insert worthless balance suggestion)"

if we were given the option to get a refund for all the purchased skins, there would be literally no attachment to this game.

  1. it puts people in bad moods
  2. toxicity exists everywhere
  3. its not fun anymore
  4. no more LC$ ads to be bombarded.

The people in charge now are the people who broke it. Just walk away.

I fully get the sentiment here, but the 'Bullying' here is just quite often straight up harassment. You can get across your displeasure and grievances without insults. Without calling for people to be fired, or replaced, or questioning what kind of crazy juice the balance team has been drinking. Or you know. Urinating on sacred artwork.

I'm fully with you that Riot should be more interactive with the community. You can actually see a lot of talk between Rioters and players on Reddit, and even twitter. There's actually a lot of talk, that they made their own hash-tag called #LifeofaPatch or something like it to easily sort through it all. I'd love to see more talk on the boards here, but with how a lot of people talk about Rioters (you can look through this threads comments for examples on that), that there isn't really a reason to talk here over platforms that reach more players in the first place.

I'd like to finish my already likely to be downvoted statement with another reason to downvote me. Just because you don't like how the game is, does not mean it's trash. Just because you can't understand why a change was implemented, does not mean it's a bad change. Now, I'm not trying to say Riot hasn't done things wrong, badly, or even to my own displeasure. Nobody's perfect. It just means you're not a fan of it, and that's alright.

Voice your displeasure, talk about why you think it might not be the right thing. Giving feedback doesn't mean that it's going to be taken, but you'll be fostering the kind of discussion that brings interaction. Now, it may just be too late for this place in terms of it, but I'm an optimist. Maybe to a fault sometimes.

Tweet at the devs directly. These boards are ran by too many snowflakes.

Vonyalo7/22/2019, 10:17:10 PM6 votes

Well that's the whole point. They hook you and you can't leave, now they don't have to do anything and you will still continue playing because of that investment. [sg-miss-fortune]

The game is good I don’t understand what people think has changed in the 10 years of this game existing it’s design philosophy has never changed.

ªðº7/22/2019, 11:03:42 PM2 votes

Adaptation is what many people lack...and this can be applied to any type of video game or scenario. A true player wouldn't complain on the new changes but try/learn and overcome. It can be frustrating but nothing can go your way. Also having the community vote on changes will not change anything (there will still be disappointment involved). Sure it may benefit the majority, but eventually the complaints will still exist.
