Is Gnar's kit still overloaded?
I personally think it is. What do you think? (I do not want to hear complaints about his "uncontrollable transformation" because it is actually manageable)

He's more than easy enough to deal with in lane by any competent player. Unlike people that just steamroll, like Riven/Akali/Lee Sin (in the jungle)/Yasuo (pre-crippling-nerfs) etc.
But do you think his kit is overloaded?
I think, personally, that the only nerf he needed was that his mini-form Q either shouldn't apply a Slow, or it shouldn't apply a stack of his W.
That's my opinion...
So you think he is overloaded.
No, I think Yasuo is overloaded... I think Gnar was given inappropriate buffs in order to maintain an aspect of his kit that he doesn't need, but I don't think that Gnar is overloaded, no.
I feel like a loose definition of overloaded is things in a champions kit that they do not need.
having "ONE" thing that you don't need in your kit does not make you overloaded, having mass QUANTITIES of things in you kit is what makes you overloaded... i.e. Yasuo
This. I used to play Gnar relatively often after his release. Then stopped playing him when, tryin to learn him. I can't recall ever loosing to Gnar in lane unless it was due to a jungler.
If you know his mechnics its so easy to outplay him. I mean seriously, his Q has a similiar pattern to Draven = its easy to hit him when he catches it. He is a champion without ultimate 90% of the time = no killing potential unless you go full brainafk. He has some of the lowest base stats ingame. And his jump has the same big downside as Renektons, just think a splitt second before going all in.
Gnar gets a lot of free stats from his passive, but it comes with a higher skill requirement as well as nerfs to the stats when in opposite form, as for his kit though, no it's shit, he has a slow jump with a bounce mechanic and an AS buff, the AS buff is as Meteos said, the shitiest steroid in the game, so he gets a jump that bounces. His boomerang is also a slow but at that tiny ass damage, it's mostly just a slow. He's not overloaded at all outside of his passive.
My issue his movement speed coupled with attack speed.
{quoted} My issue his movement speed coupled with attack speed.
The attack speed is irrelevant, not worth talking about.
60% attack speed seems substantial to me. You pair this with his passive % hp damage and movement speed, its really easy for him to chunk you without any damage items.
And if it is not even worth talking about why does Gnar need it at all? Isn't this just something considered to be overloaded into his kit?
Gnar isn't even strong... if you want to talk overloaded... Irelia, Lee Sin, Riven, Yasuo, and Zed. Those champions posess the most overloaded kits ever and it's all for the LCS big plays. Gnar has a slow, a hop, and extra magic damage on third attack. He has no ultimate whilst in his ranged form. When he becomes "Mega-Gnar" he is significantly less mobile, his Q is still a ranged slow with about the same missle width, however it deals more damage but also stops at first target hit. His W is a short stun that is easily dodged, and his E isn't too helpful in his melee form in all honesty. His ult isn't too powerful, there are a whole lot of better ultimates out there that don't require being smashed into a wall for a stun. I.E. Amumu's ultimate.
Tell that to UOL.
Wow, his damage already got butchered. How much more will you guys cry? Just don't stand next to a god damn wall when his rage is full...
Gnar has only a few things that I look at and think "Why is that there?" like the attack speed boost on his E or how big the slow is on his Mini Form Q. However, there is other champions that are much more "overloaded" as you say. For example, personally, i think Yasuo has a lot of things I can look at and wonder why the heck they are there when that power could be put into other parts of his kit.
Yasuo's double crit chance could be put into his E to make it an actual damaging ability and the armor penetration on his R could be moved to put more power into his shield or Q.
Yeah he is overloaded. Overloaded with a crap Mini Gnar form. I would buy Gnar in a heartbeat if he permanently looked and played like Mega Gnar.
