Riven's WinRate graph for 9.10 fills me with sadistic joy

https://files.catbox.moe/yvbmkg.png Riven was one of the top 3 strongest toplane champions for basically 3 months now. I'm very glad that for at least 2 weeks we wont have to deal with her absurdity. Unless, of course, Riot decides to slap a hotfix buff to her, which I sincerely expect to happen any minute now, considering their history with balancing popular champions.

Obviously, her winrate will stabilize throughout the duration of the patch. I expect her to stand at a comfortable 51-52% winrate after people get used to her. This is still not ideal for such a popular champion but it's a step in the right direction.

people have to get used to the new slightly new playstyle. any shift of power takes getting used to.

It's been 1 day, let people adapt.

She is still insanely powerfull. The only reason her winrate took such a hit is that most people who picked her up while she was at the top were successfull with her only because of her bloated numbers and won without giving any effort. Now, even if she is still blatantly overpowered, people have to use their brain during laning phase, something that they haven't done for months now

Yea, she cant perma shield anymore, riven players are still used to being invincible clearly. So they go in when their shield still has that tiny bit of CD left ;)

We all still pretending riven was a problem?

Remember a lot more than 50 champions call Top lane home

Riven's normal WR is somewhere at 48/49% - 50/51% usually, or atleast it was for years before the patch with Spear and Conqueror rework

Glaricion5/15/2019, 9:13:05 PM3 votes

Don't celebrate too soon, might still be using older builds.

Will probably return to normal/have no discernible difference once people switch over to getting SoS (not a thing for many higher ELO Rivens) and going for the Essence Reaver IE PD (not necessarily in that order) crit build(s) in order to abuse the more frequent AA resets she has access to now.

Lol.

This is why I can't take this forum serious........

Give it a few weeks. Players need to adjust to champ changes. If you can't expect silvers and gold's to listen to pings you certainly can't expect them to relearn a champ in a few days.

Rivens still busted. Just wait.

Take into account that OP.GG IS KOREA ONLY.

Any time that a CD-reliant champion such as Riven gets CD changes, it is bound to substantially impact their winrate since it completely changes how they performs their combos now. I also believe that Riven's win rate will stabilize to above 50% again once people figure out how to work around her higher E cooldown and lower Q cooldown.

Ahris5/16/2019, 5:06:53 AM2 votes

I dont think her winrate will go back to around 51%. The power she lost is pretty huge, and this board ofc undermines any nerf to a champ no damage related.

That sheild is her entire survivability and mobility, nerfing that is quite big. Most people who played riven before and now is most likely the same. The winrate drop then increase will simply mean people dropping riven because she is not good anymore and one tricks using Riven as result, which will OBVIOUSLLY increase her winrate.

DarkTree15/16/2019, 10:25:51 PM2 votes

49% winrate on a "high skill" champ (as in their winrates are typically weighed down by newcomers to the champion like ryze, azir, etc) is like. unholy lol

Saevum5/16/2019, 4:51:05 PM1 votes

It was indeed a nerf, the cooldown on the shield is gonna hurt, yes, they only need to use their brains more often. Also, they get to chill a little bit longer during laning phase, which is where the nerf hit them.

This is called increasing the skill cap. Because before this nerf, there was a major Riven abuse pick rate.

Let's wait and see.

And now we wait and watch for the next Gameplay post about how new Riven is OP because the lower Q cooldown means more knock ups
