Midlane Rakan is fun. Riot, please don't remove it.

Many of us are really enjoying playing Rakan mid. He honestly feels pretty balanced, once you understand how to play against him. He remains just as viable as a support, just also happens to work as a midlaner. Just like Karma or Lulu. Just like how AD Carries like Ezreal and Lucian and Varus are played mid. Riot, please don't take this away from us. I love playing this.

Well, if Riot holds up its vow to expand champion roles they shouldnt

Do you have any reason to believe they're going to take it away? I don't see any changes to rakan listed on S@20.

Sometimes when a pick becomes dominant in one position it gets nerfed either for its strength in the off-role, or nerfed in its main role which affects the off-role. (rakan is pretty high on the support pick/success too)

Riot kills playstyles all the time as a result of balance something around 2 positions. They try not to if the off-role is healthy for the game but if its annoying they kill it or don't bother trying to preserve it in future balance updates to the champ.

While I understand this, I don't believe rakan is a dominant pick mid (and I'm not even sure it's played enough to be on riots radar), and not super out of line as support.

He can have some spicy burst for sure when built full ap (I do have an account that has a dedicated spicy rakan page), but tbh so can a lot of traditional mid laners currently, so it's not clear to me that theres any current cause for concern.

I just know that Riot has a habit of finding off meta stuff that has huge success and giving it a solid nerf because they don't like it. Bjerg agreed with this sentiment for Rakan mid on stream the other day.

i love rakan and sona mid assuming they know what they're doing, they are such a fun pick to have on my team instead of the generic caster / assassin / yasuo mids

Just the fact that hes good mid means hes insanely broken.

It goes to show how unbalanced supports are atm.

bizzare. kinda like playing galio mid when his ult is useless solo lane. but instead, rakan's E is useless solo lane. AND his ult is useless. Except defensively if enemy dives tower I suppose

You forget you can W and Ult at the same time for better burst (120% AP scaling near instantly)

everything comes and goes. if you think a champion, especially an aggessive one, will be meta for more than a year or so then... idk what to say

Sure, take it mid. If you bring that shit top lane though we are going to have problems.

I hate when people use Karma as an example of a support who CAN play mid. She was DESIGNED to play mid lol.

I agree though, Rakan should be allowed to flex mid.
