When is RIot going to address the AFK epidemic??

I honestly do not care how many times this question is asked or how many times a thread is repeated. This topic should honestly be at the top of the discussion every day all day until the problem is fixed.

Why is it that a game even STARTS when players do not even CONNECT to the game in the first place? I'm not talking about 10 minutes into a game and then someone goes afk ( which is also a HUGE problem). I'm talking about at the very beginning when it is CLEAR that a player is AFK by either not connecting or purchasing an item or moves out of base.

If someone wants to argue that reducing the loss of LP would be unbalanced and taken advantage of fine, but then there needs to be a system put in place especially in RANKED games where the game is stopped and ended. There should be no reason what so ever that a game even starts with an afk therefore creating a loss, reduction of LP, and waste of time.

I had to stop playing ranked because of all the AFKs. Now I just play norms and if it's a 20, IDC.

Promo AFKs suck the hardest. The worst of 2 broken systems.

I 100% agree with this, as it is essentially unexploitable. While some people could use it as a dodge, i dont know anyone who would sit through the whole queue and the loading screen which takes like 5-10 minutes all in all just to get the perfect team. Afking in the middle of the game is one thing. At the start, it is very hard to exploit

does it really count as an epidemic when i can't even remember the last time this happened in a game for me?

They should just take a page out of DOTA's book and make it allowable to leave without penalty if someone disconnects.

But no, this would buff the quality of life way too much, and we can't have that, no sir.
