lately everyones been getting reworks and buffs sona remained the same and just feels squishy or under powered. my suggestions are as fallows -buff her health early-late game she dies really easy even with heals or -buff her AP she does good damage with her passive but her overall poke is only good for the first 7 minutes then she falls off.

She has been out of the meta since season 4 because supports before that couldn't get items and were "useless".

But better blame her rework (despite giving her enemies actual counterplay) because omg I can't be a braindead spamming healbot anymore xd!

A support who is designed to be "baby's first support" with heavily spammable spells and tons of room for mistakes makes Sona Sona.

I rather have a ranged keyboard mashing machine without counterplay(except for almost insta ult) underplayed than top tier

Let me tell you, I've played my fair share of Sona- about 230k worth- and she's almost never been meta (aside from before her rework, i suppose). I think there was a point where she did quite well because the game was somewhat balanced around tanks and not damage dealers, so she was able to fit right in and not die in .5 seconds all the time. There was even a time where Sona mid worked and was fun.

Otherwise, it's been a rough ride for her. The assassin debacle, the AD itemization changes, the focus on snowballing and blowing up your opponent? Heavily working against her. Not to mention she's not exactly a successful rework in the first place.

The only thing that really helped her were the mana regen changes, support item changes, and the support keystones, which is a pretty flimsy bandaid on a broken arm.

To basically sum this up, she's not bad, but she's not good. She's heavily outclassed by virtually any other support and has few qualities you'd want to pick over other more focused supports (e.g, Soraka for healing, Janna for disengage/chase, Lulu for interrupts and counter engaging, Karma for heavy poke and single target focus, Morg for cc lockdown and protection against magic and cc, and even Nami for being what Sona is but just... better at it).

She's too slow, too frail, mana hungry, has mediocre buffs, heals, shields, and damage, and is basically a medium range poke/ult bot. Press Q, try to not die when using her empowered AA, throw in the occasional shitty heal or speed boost and the VERY occasional ult (because its cooldown is so. fucking. loNG.) and wooooooOAAAAAAAAAAh look at her GOooooOOOOOOooOOOooOooOOoOOOOOoooooo

Sona is in a pretty good spot right now. She can bully her lane but has to worry about being burst down. So you have to choose between going for the kill or risk getting killed. Her AP ratios are good enough to be a factor late game when she should be going full AP anyway. Plus her ult is still game changing.

Her damage is ridiculous for a support. Late game she can nearly oneshot. She's more than fine.

  1. You're dumb.

  2. She isn't.

She is just damage, damage, and more damage + slightly useful heals She has no pre-6 cc, is insanely squishy, absurdly high mana costs, and her ult and passive both suck. Another rework is needed for our little Maven of the Strings. I wish she had more useful utility.

FiddlesOnTheRoof5/18/2016, 2:56:14 PM1 votes

This is the long standing issue with her. She's so oppressive early, but falls off a cliff mid. She's pretty much a garbage version of every other poke/sustain support. She doesn't do any one thing better than anyone.

I truly despise threads like these...

And its because of my own saltyness.

Somebody's champion gets slightly underplayed one season out of all the seasons they been top meta and they want Riots attention.

Aatrox, Galio, and a few others are like never seen in this game.

But I won't be surprised if Riot does give sona some buffs.

She's been out of the meta for some time now ...l

What does she have to offer? She's so incredibly squishy that when she goes to poke it's very easy to punish her for it. when her flash is down she's way too easy to kill. Her ult almost requires her to have flash up in order to be effective. Her auras just never feel good even if they are good. Healing is meh, mana costs are meh. Absolutely no reason to pick her over the trinity of Taric Soraka Janna

Still has a very high winrate Still the highest damage support who also has a heal Still the second highest damage support who has a heal or barrier (Behind Lux and ahead of Karma)

Buffing a champion who's currently in such a good state would be silly.
