Patch 8.14 BIG MISTAKE

I've heard, though I don't know how credible my source is, that the next patch will bring a substantial nerf to the Hunter's Talisman item 1039 damage bringing it down by 1/4 from 60 magic damage to 45 over time. This makes some sense as Evelynn and Taliyah have been doing especially well in the jungle with the mana changes. However I think this damage nerf is a huge mistake. I may not be Challenger, but I think I know enough about the game to understand how this change will affect the jungle. For starters, I play a good amount of Pyke jungle. This may seem stupid but I make it work. On Pyke you cannot start Hunter's Machete because you're base attack speed is so slow, so you start talisman. Pyke's clear is bad enough as it is before Cinderhulk. Pyke is not the only champ that would be effected by this change though, as Talisman is a good item to start on champs like Kha'Zix, Kayn and nearly every tank jungler. Essentially, if you are planning to nerf the damage on Talisman, it is going to do a lot more damage than you (Riot) may expect, and especially if you are nerfing it mostly because of the few strong ap junglers, why not nerf some of their base stats like mana regen or hp. Or, you could just make no changes as honestly I have no complaints about the ap junglers right now, on or against them. Again though, I'm not entirely certain this change is happening or is even final so don't hate me I just think if it is happening its a big mistake.

They really only care about Duelist junglers since 8.10/8.11 and they probally won't add anything to improve jungle or runic/talisman to compensate for the loss.

You had me until cinderhullk, are you getting it just for the burn to help with your clear? If so that is a lot of waste states. Warrior would be infinitely better since your HP conversion to dmg is pretty bad. I can see grabbing a cinder to help with your clear, and then chucking it later... that would be suboptimal, but make some sense. Full on cinder seems wasteful.

However I am on board, I main amumu. Talisman nerf while make it pretty hard to do a decent clear on him.

You could be right, I haven’t done a lot of ad building though. I like cinderhulk because it gives you about 28 ad I think and around a 50 dps burn so yess it is good for clear. However, something else that I do on Pyke is go cleaver, visage, and dead man’s building health. The 15% bonus hp from cinderhulk does actually add on to your damage, so essentially you get 15% increased bonus ad and you build redistances so you basically become an unburatable high damage output squishy

The issue isn't that there is no value, its just that considering you can't benefit from HP outside it converting to AD, buying raw AD is just most cost effective. Just throwing my two cents in the ring.

I'm doing the calculations as I am writing this, but with an AD build (I don't know exactly how you would build it, but I did mobis, warrior, dusk, youmuus, maw, and ga) you get 387 AD, 2301 HP, 170 Armor, 116 mr, 40% cdr and bonuses from these items. With my build, (Cinderhulk, mobis, cleaver, visage, and then something like ga and dead man's) you get 338 AD, 2301 HP, 230 Armor, 121 mr, 30% cdr, and bonuses from these items. Over all, id say the builds are roughly the same, with one being more defenses focused and one more damage focused. I just like the feel of mine better because of how much cinderhulk helps with clear, even in the late game.
