Voice Comm in League?

Is there a possibility of adding a voice communication system in the game in the near future? I, personally, feel that communication purely through pings and chat is significantly tougher once the game becomes more intense and fast paced. I feel like that kind of system allows for the toxic and disruptive behaviour of mass pinging once the game hits that stage. If there was a voice communication system available, it is logical to think that the players that can utilise the system can work well within their team while still allowing players to mute the toxic ones yelling on their microphones. Honestly, there doesn't seem to be a downside when looking at this proposal at face value. If there is an issue with implementing such system, is it a coding issue or is there just not enough time currently to focus on this kind of project? I would love to get a rioters response to this.
