If I'm gonna start playing assassins, who should I start with, and what are some tips?

I usually play tanks, but I'd like to branch out and learn other roles too. I mostly play team focused classes like enchanters and tanks. What champions would be good if I'm trying to learn assassins?

Akali is pretty easy. Look up Professor Akali on YouTube for high quality advice on how to play her

Start with Akali. She has a low skill floor and she teaches you how to plan ahead and outplay people.

Depends on how good you are at midlaning in general. Assassins have a very, VERY different playstyle from most other champions you're likely used to.

It's a good idea to pick up a simple assassin like Akali first, get used to being squishy and having a hit 'n run playstyle. Never commit so hard that you'll get caught and die. Ward against junglers because you will die quickly if there is any cc. From there just try some assassins and see which one you like.

For your first games I wouldn't recommend Kat/Zed/LB/Talon as they have either difficult or different playstyles that you're likely not used to.

Talon He's fun, he's broken, and he's effective. He is best in the Mid lane, but he can do well in the Top and Jungle.

Diana

She's under the radar again atm.

Talon if you want or need the ad.

While she's technically not an assassin, you're probably right that divers are more up my alley. I'll consider picking up some divers as a possibility.

Sorry I didn't know they updated her class.

I still count her as an assasin or "burst" mage.

Zed with my main acct, I have around 650K zed exp...he's really an awesome assassin.

But playing an assassin is a whole different playstyle, you want to be the last to engage in a teamfight, Not the first, not the 2nd. Once the teamfight is initiated and everyone blows their ults or become scattered, you go STRAIGHT FOR the enemy adc, ult them, kill them. Then depending on your situation, move on the target next to you, or jump back to your shadow with R. There are also really creative combo techniques with zed. My personal favorite is the "Line" where you ult the enemy, throw your shadow behind them. Then do your full dmg rotation. so if zed is x and enemy is O it looks like this. x xO x and you then have more combat options, If the enemy JG appears you an jump back on your ult shadow. if they try to run you can jump forward to your W shadow. zed is really the most versatile assassin in LoL

talon is lots of fun and really easy to roam with. but if you want to go an ap fizz is a royal pain.
