How Is Game Balance That is This Bad Acceptable From The Most Popular Game Ever Made?

Hi, if you're like me you have played League of Legends Recently. You have probably noticed that this game is as balanced as a fat kid on a trapeze. How did we get to this point? I have a few Answers that could all be just as likely.

  1. $$$ It is not as profitable for a game to be balanced, because there would be less outliers who are popular to abuse. People prefer to play with skins, so people start to pla- I mean abuse these op picks and buy a skin for them.

  2. Incompetence. I think this is the main reason. There is such a massive disconnect from the community and riot atm. They only really listen to the pro players who don't actually play the game. 5v5 when everyone has mics and at a challenger level is not league of legends, statistically silver games are league of legends. They need to disregard the pros, and balance the game for the majority of players. How many of us in low/mid elo wanted Nasus to be buffed to insane levels? How many of us wanted Thornmail to be insanely broken? Assassins to get buffed? Armor tanks to be op? Safe to say not many.

  3. Appeasing to an insanely casual audience. This can be contrary to my second point, but still relevant. I think we can all agree that adc is the most difficult role in the game (I'm a top main and can see this, don't be stubborn). What's the easiest play style(s)? Tanks and Assassins when ahead. Instead of trying to please a group of people who attempt to play the hardest role, they appease to the people who just want to faceroll with tanks and one shot assassins. (Zed is difficult when not overpowered. He is not difficult when he can ult and just auto you with duskblade and lethality items to one shot you. Same goes for Talon, Rengar, etc.) I don't think adc's have much of a chance anymore. If 3/5 people on their team have thornmail, who are you supposed to focus? Their backline? Yeah by the time you get into auto range rammus will have taunted you and nasus will have one shotted you. The only two adc's who really have a chance are Draven and Miss Fortune because they just build lethality like as assassin, and even then they die just the same, just now they do maybe 20 percent more damage to the tanks.

This game is seriously fucked atm, I would say the worst it has been in a very long time. What's worse is the silence of these issues on the pbe with balance changes. Atleast the new champion has been teased? Right?

Pffft, ha! Hahaha! Oh, good joke.

Okay, good jokes aside, it's all about money. Riot is the definition of greedy (at least the higher ups. I've seen some individual devs who give a damn), yeah? So they already admitted to "balancing around the spotlight" as they put it, and they intentionally break champs / roles to milk money off of skin sales or to forcibly create a new meta and FOTM picks so people wanna go buy skins and all that.

Why they get away with it? People just don't care anymore, or don't have enough brainpower to realize they're being exploited.

######... it's like reading myself posting though, which is creepy.

Riot is appealing to pros?

Now Valve in dota2 is appealing to pros

In that game you ahve every hero picked in compettetive

Riot is balancing around everything essentially which is retarded idea but eh...

Best example is garen.. absolute dogshit unless you are bronze MUH RITO bALANCING AROUND HIGH ELO xddd Or nasus even with currents buffs is bad in high elo

Everything kite-able is bad in high elo

Thornmail isn't OP, most AD assassins are not a problem. My problems are with assholes like Ahri Akali Anivia Ashe Annie Brand Caitlyn Chogath Draven Fiora Fizz Garen Gangplank Jax Kled Lucian Lulu Lux Malzahar Orianna Pantheon Syndra Yasuo Vladimir Zyra

I'm not saying they're all over powered, but they're either that or super annoying to play against.

PS: Your poll is so one sided. Of course most people will vote 'YES' simply because they don't like something about it, but it doesn't mean they agree with your points.

EDIT: Guess I was wrong, most people voted 'NO', but I guess it's because of your stupid points.

I keep finding shameful games because the broken matchmaking; and I mean also when my team stomp 50-17. It's a shame, and it's intentional (50% ratio system). After that, it's evident they don't try to balance all the champions: they change something here and there, some champs become op, some become useless, untill the next patch (or season) when things change, and so people can use new champions (with new skins...).

Riot:we already released a legendary skin for caitlyn so lets nerf her to the ground to sell more tristana twitch and draven skins.

try balancing 150 boxes of different weights and sizes on an 10-sided see-saw. then go talk to the balance team.

One of the most blatant examples of number one, would be spirit udyr. Yeah there was a bunch of backlash for that.

Same sentiments exactly. Riot currently is trying to cater to bad players with low mechanical skills who would ultimately buy skins. Even though they try so hard to argue that it demands skills, which just gives bad players a delusion that they are actually good so they buy skins. I hate how the current state of assassins are so horribly dumbed down. Pretty much most are still jump in press ult+auto duskblade one shots. Before the shitty assassin meta back in season 3 started, they used to require more brains to play, through good pathing rather than brute force assassins with abundance of damage we have nowadays. It just gets dumb-downed more and more every season.

League of Legends is a poorly designed game with no balance whatsoever. It's all about who can get the most minion kills and 3 champion kills at the beginning of the game. Then you suffer with a stupidly overpowered character that's unstoppable. Some ability cooldowns are ridiculous; 10 seconds for a ability that can reach 10 miles and deal 500 damage while stunning you for 2 years. What's the point of over 50 characters without balance?

Hey man body fat content has nothing to do with balance im offended.

Assassins are easy When mages exist and assassin rework happened

lol

Wow you're actually delusional.

  1. Prove me that Riot wins more money because of imbalance, because it doesn't make sense. If Riot wanted to sell all skins by making champions Op we'd see a rotation of broken champs, which is not quite the case.
  2. pro players don't play the game? No comment. Riot balances around proplay? Ahhahahahaahhahahahaahaah best joke. Proplay is insanely boring because Riot cares too much about low tiers and doesn't make enough balance changes to change the current situation of proplay, aka ALWAYS THE SAME CHAMPIONS. And when finally they make some balance changes to potentially see more picks, you complain?!
  3. you can't be serious. Adc's have always been metagame. Not one time have they been out of meta since season 2. Tons of balance changes are heavily biased towards adc's. I respect how difficult the role naturally is, yet it remains meta-defining. Can't make a lol game without adc's or you're penalizing your odds of winning.

Aight keep complaining. It's always so much simpler.

It'd probably get really stale if it every champ was 100% balanced. The changing meta keeps some people interested. Some people can just one-trick a champion regardless if it is meta or not, but when I try to do that it gets really stale for me.
