Gangplank Itemization build

I'm trying to work up some proper items in mind for gangplank based on the new items brought out.

five out of six i've decided to stay stationary on are item 3812 item 3742 item 3065 item 1330 item 3078

item 3078 being for his Q and E procs along with the cooldown reduction for faster casting.

item 3742 for sticking to enemies and escaping if need be. this also makes him quite beefy with good armor and health. I also take scaling armor runes up to 34 bonus armor by level 18 (+1.82 armor per level)

item 3065 for his W and for item 3812 with how much damage his E's deal to enemies in an area radius. This also goes for his Q procs and auto attacks. I also take the same scaling runes for magic resistance so I get 34 bonus MR by level 18 (+1.82 magic resistance per level)

item 1330 is obviously to cap his CDR at 40% and to grant him more sticking power with his E and with item 3078 and item 3742

What I have yet to decide upon are these three last items.

item 3087 , item 3094 , and item 3046

item 3087 Is obviously for wave clear and team fights.

item 3094 is for tower pushing and I can only imagine quick hit and run tactics

and item 3046 is for sticking power and dueling power.

But I bet you all can get the gist of my mentality with this build. Gangplanks' E provides 50% armor ignoring/penetration to begin with so saying he needs penetration is ... really redundant.

Either way... I need some feedback with the logic behind all this so far.

Go trinity, ie, then tanky and you won't lose a game. I like to play him Hydra + tank items sometimes, so you can manfight midgame.

I'd probably take that advice if your match history had any gangplank gameplay showing that.

Infinity Edge is mandary on GP. It gives you more damage so you hurt more, more crit, and your crits hit harder.

Statik or Phantom don't amount to much if your crits don't hurt and you don't have much damage. Also GP usually doesn't AA much, most his damage is from E or Q

I gathered as much before. This was my attempt at a duelist type gangplank.

Those items seem pretty decent to me. I've played him on Dominion quite a bit and since IE doesn't exist there I've had to experiment with more duelist-oriented builds like yourself. I'm still trying to find the best non-IE build for him. The new Trinity definitely helps smooth out his build-pathing.

item 3094 seems better than item 3087 as it gives you more MS. More MS is always nice on GP.

item 3812 is definitely his best damage/sustain pickup. The amount of life you get back when you hit get a chain off is pretty impressive.

bad news... it doesn't seem that the effects of energize doesn't work with his barrels... why...
