I played a couple of games with him today and he is pretty good. I don't know if I would go as far to call him OP. It will probably take me playing against him to find out how good his kit actually is. Are we surprised though? This is a force of habit for Riot; they release a new champ and the next patch said champ is inevitably nerfed. I don't know if it is necessarily an economic move or they simply don't know how a champ will do when released to the entirety of the League community. They do testing obviously and they know what a champ can do so my guess is as good as yours. Economically, though, it seems like a lot of people want to try out the new champs so regardless of any OP-ness, they would still make money off of RP purchases both for the champion and skins.

Jhin is...meh to me. Easy to kill, but in my opinion doesn't bring much to the table, but people are still learning him so.

He is a more bursty version of Viktor with more range - Viktor has more sustain damage, ability to kite better, and easier waveclear with one laser upgraded

Played Jhin mid once I got first blood and died at the same time. Took me half the game to stop clicking out of my ult... but I ended up winning at 10/8/16 or something. Hes not really my type of champ but hes definitely way overtuned. Very satisfying once i figured out the ult... def missed like 4 kills but it was meh fun kinda. Bard4Life

Garen is a pretty brutal counter to Jhin.
